  • Publication number: 20230050240
Abstract: Configuration of signal strength calibration offset is provided. A user interface is displayed, to a screen of a mobile device, for configuration of a signal strength offset of a wireless transceiver to a vehicle, the signal strength offset being an offset with respect to a default calibration of signal strength measurements between the wireless transceiver and the vehicle, the signal strength calibration being for use in calibrating a location of the mobile device for a passive zone with respect to the vehicle. An update to the signal strength calibration is received from the user interface. The signal strength calibration as updated is sent to the vehicle for use in locating the mobile device for the passive zone.

  • Publication number: 20220345886
Abstract: Detection and prevention of resource drain from unauthorized wireless device connections is provided. Responsive to receiving of a connection request from a connecting device, a pre-authentication message is sent to the connecting device, the pre-authentication message including a challenge value. A vehicle hash result is computed using a hash function taking the challenge value and the unique identifier of the vehicle as inputs. A device hash result is received from the connecting device. Responsive to a match of the vehicle hash result and the device hash result, additional hardware of the vehicle is activated to perform a secondary authentication of the connecting device. Responsive to a mismatch, authentication of the connecting device is rejected without activation of the additional hardware, thereby avoiding key-off load from the additional hardware in instances where pre-authentication of the connecting device fails.

  • Patent number: 11345313
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to aspects of authenticating a mobile device and providing a vehicle access key thereto when a previously registered mobile device is not accessible. In one aspect of the present disclosure, a method includes requesting at a first mobile device, access to a profile associated with controlling operations of a vehicle, the profile having stored thereon an access key for operating the vehicle, the access key having been previously installed on a second mobile device. The method further includes upon successful authorization, receiving the access key at the first device and operating the vehicle using the access key on the first mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10688963
Abstract: A vehicle that includes in-vehicle controller(s) coupled to an external network transceiver, and configured to register a key fob and/or a mobile device configured as a key fob. The transceiver is configured to communicate autonomously with remote servers to respond to a key fob signal received from the server, which includes an authentication code and a remote control command generated by the key fob and/or mobile device configured as the key fob. In further variations, the key fob is also configured to be paired and/or registered by an external mobile device, by the authentication code, and to generate the remote control command via the mobile device. In response to the key fob signal, the controller(s) autonomously adjust vehicle systems, such as locking or unlocking, arming and disarming a security system, adjusting cabin and/or seat temperature and configuration preferences, as well as other driver vehicle preferences.
