  • Patent number: 10110982
Abstract: A cover for a wearable personal acoustic device includes a fabric cover shaped to receive and enclose a wearable personal acoustic device, and an identification tag, such as an RFID tag or optical tag, secured to the fabric cover. The fabric cover includes a stretchable material that is acoustically transparent. The fabric cover may include a closure mechanism that can provide an opening through which the wearable personal acoustic device is received or removed and a closed state in which the wearable personal acoustic device is enclosed by the fabric cover. The identification tag stores an identifier associated with the fabric cover and communicates with the wearable personal acoustic device through an identification reader. The identifier may be associated with a physical property of the fabric cover or an operational parameter of the wearable personal acoustic device. The operational parameter optionally is definable by a user.

  • Patent number: 9953629
Abstract: A flexible waveguide band is provided for that may be worn by a user around their neck, for example. The flexible waveguide band includes a spine, such as a pliable rod; a plurality of vertebrae mounted on the spine, with each vertebra including at least one waveguide channel guide; and an encapsulating potting material. The flexible waveguide band may also be attached to an acoustic pod, including an acoustic driver that may radiate sound waves into said waveguide channels and exit via a sound outlet opening in the flexible band.

  • Patent number: 9503796
Abstract: In one aspect, a speaker kit includes a first portion of a speaker housing, and an electroacoustic driver that can be secured to the housing first portion. The kit has one or more additional portions of the speaker housing. One of the one or more additional housing portions has at least one electrical component secured thereto. The kit also has one or more mechanisms that can be used to hold the housing portions together such that the housing portions form an acoustic seal that encompasses an acoustic volume. The one or more mechanisms are removable from the housing portions such that the housing portions can be moved away from each other without damage to the housing portions or the one or more mechanisms.
