  • Publication number: 20150363976
Abstract: Apparatus (301) for generating a sequence of stereoscopic images for a head-mounted display depicting a virtual environment includes an angular motion sensor (402) that outputs an indication of the orientation of the head-mounted display, a texture buffer (409) that is refreshed with left and right textures that define left and a right pre-rendered scenes in the virtual environment, a rendering processor (412) which then renders left and right images from respective render viewpoints determined by the output of the angular motion sensor, by mapping the textures onto respectively left and right spheres or polyhedrons, the left and right rendered images then being provided to a stereoscopic display (202, 203) in the head-mounted display, and the rendering processor renders the left and right images at a higher rate than the left and right textures are refreshed in the texture buffer.

  • Patent number: 8953674
Abstract: A sequence of images received from a camera is recorded according to a first procedure. The images are analyzed to identify events of interest, and upon identifying an event of interest, an area of interest of a plurality of said images is identified. The identified area is recorded according to a second procedure.

    Assignee: Lighthaus Logic Inc.
Inventors: Michael Anthony Henson, Jamie Roy Sherrah, Peter Richard Quartermain
  • Patent number: 8948245
Abstract: Graphical output representing the activity of a plurality of monitoring detection devices over a region is displayed. The detection devices are represented as an array of regular polygons in an arrangement substantially analogous to the monitored region, and a characteristic of the graphical output is adjusted within a displayed polygon by a degree dependent upon the level of activity detected by its respective detection device.

  • Patent number: 8107680
Abstract: An environment is monitored by capturing image data depicting the environment and analysing the image data to identify moving foreground objects. Upon identifying an object, the movement of said object is tracked, and graphical output data is generated providing a representation of the movement superimposed upon a representation of said environment.

  • Patent number: 7664292
Abstract: Output from a video camera is monitored. Input data is analyzed to produce a model of a background image and incoming image data is compared with said background model to identify images having a high level of activity created by the introduction of a foreground object. A period of activity, composed of a plurality of consecutive images having a high level of activity, is identified, and an exemplar image is generated.
