  • Publication number: 20070208651
Abstract: The inventor discovered a method for exploiting asymmetrical market return patterns that involves the steps of identifying seasons during which equities have historically done poorly, entering a short sell position on a portfolio of call options at or near the beginning of that season, and closing out the short sell position at or before the end of the season. The inventor has also developed an options trading strategy platform to help potential subscribers or clients to implement this options trading strategy.

  • Patent number: 7251756
Abstract: Integrated circuit memory is tested to discover defective memory elements. To replace the defective memory elements, spare memory elements are selected and a string is generated to indicate which ones of the spares replace which ones of the defective memory elements. The number of bits of the string depend upon how many of the memory elements are defective. Although a certain number of the memory elements are defective, which determines the number of the string bits, nevertheless, a number of fuses to program on the integrated circuit is determined responsive to how many fuses are available for programming relative to the number of the binary string bits. That is, if more fuses are available than a certain threshold number relative to the number of string bits (as is preferred), then more than the threshold number are programmed. If not, then only that certain threshold number of fuses are programmed.

  • Publication number: 20070161148
Abstract: A technique for forming Charge-Coupled Devices (CCDS) in a conventional Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) process. A number of single-layer polysilicon gates are formed on an as-grown, native doped silicon substrate, with gaps between them. Masking is used to selectively dope the gates while preventing doping of the silicon in the gaps. Masking may likewise be used to selectively silicide the gates while preventing silicide formation in the gaps. Conventional source-drain processing produces input/output diffusions for the CCD.

  • Publication number: 20070161145
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for adding or subtracting an amount charge to or from a charge packet in a CCD as the packet traverses the CCD. The apparatus uses a “wire transfer” device structure to perform the addition or subtraction of charge during the charge packets traversal across the device. A pair of electrically interconnected diffusions are incorporated within the charge couple path to provide an amount of charge which can be added or subtracted from packets as the packets traverse the CCD.

  • Patent number: 7212983
Abstract: A method is disclosed for creating itineraries for a party of visitors to a facility, the facility having multiple attractions. Visitors give answers to questions about their preferences, which is combined with authoritative information about their admission privileges, and information stored about the attractions and facility, to generate an itinerary. The method can be executed by a portable, handheld computer which asks the questions, accepts the answers, and processes them into an itinerary which is both portable and dynamic, adjusting in real time to schedule changes and unscheduled attraction closures. In an alternative embodiment, the itinerary can be generated as the result of an Internet transaction, or through an interaction with a facility employee. The itinerary may be presented to the party in printed form, such as a schedule or ticket book.

Abstract: A technique for timeline compression in a data store is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as a method for timeline compression in a storage system, wherein digital content of the storage system is backed up to enable restoration of the digital content to one or more points in a timeline. The method may comprise selecting a time interval in the timeline. The method may also comprise identifying one or more sets of backup data recorded for the selected time interval, wherein the identified one or more sets of backup data represent at least a portion of old data overwritten during the selected time interval. The method may further comprise discarding other backup data recorded for the selected time interval, thereby reducing a granularity level of the timeline in the selected time interval.

  • Publication number: 20070085724
Abstract: A technique for correcting charge transfer inefficiencies in a Charge Coupled Device (CCD). The basic approach is to estimate the charge entering at a given stage in a CCD pipeline, and to then determine an estimate of the error introduced by the accumulated leftover charge that will be present at a second point, farther down the pipeline. The error is then corrected by injecting a correcting charge at a third point, farther still down the CCD pipeline. The invention is used, in one embodiment, to correct the output of a charge to digital converter, although principals of the invention may be used for other types of circuits.
