  • Publication number: 20240036331
Abstract: A display system is configured to direct a plurality of parallactically-disparate intra-pupil images into a viewer's eye. The parallactically-disparate intra-pupil images provide different parallax views of a virtual object, and impinge on the pupil from different angles. In the aggregate, the wavefronts of light forming the images approximate a continuous divergent wavefront and provide selectable accommodation cues for the user, depending on the amount of parallax disparity between the intra-pupil images. The amount of parallax disparity may be selected using an array of shutters that selectively regulate the entry of image light into an eye. Each opened shutter in the array provides a different intra-pupil image, and the locations of the open shutters provide the desired amount of parallax disparity between the images. In some other embodiments, the images may be formed by an emissive micro-display.

  • Publication number: 20240039798
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for generating communication modifications to reduce inaccurate machine-learning-based communication suppressions. The system may receive a candidate communication to be sent to a user device or user account. The system may generate a prediction indicating whether a negative action is likely to be taken by a machine learning model with respect to the candidate communication. Based on a prediction that a negative action is likely to be taken by a machine learning model with respect to the candidate communication, the system may modify the candidate communication.

  • Patent number: 11874822
Abstract: Techniques for multi-stream transactional event processing under ACID semantics in a distributed log-based append-only datastore are described. A transaction coordinator writes events that are part of a transaction to a transaction buffer, where the events can be made visible to clients involved in the transaction while other clients are not aware. Upon committing the transaction, an optimistic concurrency control based technique is utilized to attempt to obtain locks on all events involved in the transaction across one or multiple shards by one or multiple designated writer nodes. When all involved writer nodes indicate that they are able to commit their events, the transaction can be committed.

  • Patent number: 11865753
Abstract: A method for cooling molded preforms includes transferring preforms of a first injection cycle from a mold to retained engagement on a take-out plate, the preforms having exterior surfaces and interior surfaces targeted for cooling. The preforms are released from cooling tubes of the take-out plate to retained engagement on cooling pins of a transfer shell spaced away from the mold. The transfer shell rotates and the preforms are released from the transfer shell to retained engagement in supplemental tubes of a supplemental cooling device. After a period of time the preforms are released from the supplemental cooling device and transferred back to retained engagement on the transfer shell. The transfer shell rotates to an unload position to eject the preforms from the transfer shell for evacuation from the machine.

  • Patent number: 11866220
Abstract: An object can be heat-shrinkable packaged by placing an object inside of heat-shrinkable film, sealing the heat-shrinkable film around the object to form a heat-shrinkable package, coupling a first portion of a label to the heat-shrinkable package, and causing the heat-shrinkable film to shrink into heat-shrunk film and the heat-shrinkable package to form into a heat-shrunk package. The label includes an identifier on a second portion of the label. The label remains coupled to the heat-shrunk film after the heat-shrinkable film is caused to shrink into heat-shrunk film. The second portion of the label remains substantially undeformed after the heat-shrinkable film is caused to shrink into heat-shrunk film.

  • Publication number: 20240004711
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for a resource allocation system. The resource allocation system may obtain a corresponding quantity of resources (e.g., memory, processor, storage, etc.) needed to be allocated for each resource class (e.g., for a given performance class) for a particular time period (e.g., for one month). Furthermore, the resource allocation system may track allocation of each class of resources and may predict that some classes of resources will be oversubscribed. Based on the prediction, the resource allocation system may, using a machine learning model, identify supplemental classes for each resource class predicted to be oversubscribed and generate a warning when a resource of a supplemental class is predicted to be used.

  • Patent number: 11859357
Abstract: An implement for manually clearing snow, slush, or ice comprises an elongated handle and relatively narrow, shallowly curved blade and can permit a standing stationary operator to drive or otherwise draw the front face of the blade more or less face-on into fallen snow, slush, or ice to manually plow, propel, launch or otherwise move snow to a spot remote from the operator in a lateral direction outwardly away from the User, for example forward, sideways, or rearward. The implement can also be employed wherein the blade skims the pavement at a shallow angle permitting a rapid pushing motion to send a charge ballistically ahead of the blade to a distant spot and can also be employed in a traditional shoveling mode. The implement can clear open or narrow spaces, wide or narrow steps with or without parapet walls, rails, or other barriers, and it can be economically produced.

  • Patent number: 11858573
Abstract: A steerable drive wheel assembly includes two independently motor-driven wheels. The wheels are supported in side-by-side orientation for independent rotation about a common horizontal rolling axis, and equally laterally offset from said vertical steering axis. The wheels and their respective drive motors are carried in a drive module that is mounted like a turret under an intermediate suspension module via a rotary bearing. The intermediate suspension module is mounted on linear bearing assemblies within an outer housing. Biasing members urge the intermediate suspension module together with its drive module downwardly to maintain traction with a floor. A compact configuration is achieved by overlapping the drive motors with the opposite wheels. Position control is achieved by a strategic sensor array. Electrical wire management is achieved by a serpentine energy chain located in the plane of the rotary bearing.

  • Patent number: 11859820
Abstract: A combustion section defines an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The combustion section includes a casing that defines a diffusion chamber. A combustion liner is disposed within the diffusion chamber and defines a combustion chamber. The combustion liner is spaced apart from the casing such that a passageway is defined between the combustion liner and the casing. A fuel cell assembly is disposed in the passageway. The fuel cell assembly includes a fuel cell stack that has a plurality of fuel cells each extending between an inlet end and an outlet end. The inlet end receives a flow of air and fuel and the outlet end provides output products to the combustion chamber. The outlet end of the plurality of fuel cells extends through the combustion liner and partially defines the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 11860359
Abstract: A display system aligns the location of its exit pupil with the location of a viewer's pupil by changing the location of the portion of a light source that outputs light. The light source may include an array of pixels that output light, thereby allowing an image to be displayed on the light source. The display system includes a camera that captures images of the eye and negatives of the images are displayed by the light source. In the negative image, the dark pupil of the eye is a bright spot which, when displayed by the light source, defines the exit pupil of the display system. The location of the pupil of the eye may be tracked by capturing the images of the eye, and the location of the exit pupil of the display system may be adjusted by displaying negatives of the captured images using the light source.
