    Abstract: A method of automatic coffee brewing which reduces the amount of coffee required. A finely-meshed coffee basket containing coffee grounds is automatically lowered into a coffee pot and stored water fills the pot. A heating element brings the water to a boil and the coffee grounds are then steeped in the water to more efficiently extract the flavorings from the coffee grounds. The coffee basket is automatically raised as directed by a timer included in the coffee maker.
