  • Publication number: 20110314370
Abstract: A page controller module is provided for generating a pageview on a computing device according to a page definition that identifies a plurality of blocks corresponding to the pageview. In response to the page definition, and for each of the plurality of blocks, the page controller module initializes a block controller module for the block, which issues data requests to receive values for parameters associated with the block. Further, view modules are provided for rendering the viewable portion of the page using the values received in response to data requests from the block controller module. In some embodiments, block controllers may register data requests with the page controller so that the page controller may manage fulfillment of the data requests. The page controller may manage fulfillment by scheduling registered data requests and/or by reducing redundancies in registered data requests.

  • Publication number: 20060277452
Abstract: An open file format is used to represent the features and data associated with a presentation application within a document. The file format simplifies the way a presentation application organizes document features and data, and presents a logical model that is easily accessible. The file format is made up of a collection of modular parts that are stored within a container. The content included in the modular parts may include XML. This content allows tools to interrogate a presentation to examine and utilize content and ensure that the file is written correctly. Each modular part is capable of having information extracted from it and copied into another document and reused. Information may also be changed, added, and deleted from each of the modular parts.

  • Publication number: 20060107203
Abstract: A method and system for rendering electronic document objects is provided in which a style matrix holds potential attribute values, and attribute references are used to address values in the style matrix. A mix of attribute references and actual attribute values may be used so make some attributes theme- and application-specific, and others theme- and application-independent. Further, a method for rendering a gallery of potential styles is provided. Additionally, a method for associating a style matrix with an electronic document application is provided. Finally, a computer-readable medium for storing a computer-interpretable data structure that identifies a matrix of style attribute types and style attribute values is provided.
