  • Publication number: 20050201796
Abstract: A printing apparatus and method of printing for maximizing a print image in a print area in both a width and length dimension and for automatically formatting the printer depending on the type of tape media.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 10, 2005
    Publication date: September 15, 2005
    Inventor: Michael Arkin
  • Publication number: 20020067566
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed to facilitate independent positioning of a plurality of heads relative to associated disk surfaces in a disk drive system. Circuitry is provided to route position data from at least one of the heads while concurrently reading data from or writing data to another head. The position data is employed to control the position of the heads, each of which may be independently positioned by an associated positioning motor. Servo wedges associated with each surface also may be offset from each other to facilitate acquiring position data from one or more heads while data is concurrently communicated relative another head.

  • Patent number: 6252362
Abstract: A method and circuit for operating a polyphase dc motor in which discontinuous sinusoidal drive voltages are applied to the windings of the motor in predetermined phases. The discontinuous portion of the sinusoid is timed with the bemf zero crossings. Bemf zero crossings are detected, and phases of the drive voltages are adjusted to have zero crossings substantially in the discontinuities of the drive voltages. The method and circuit result in motor operation with significantly reduced acoustic motor noise.
