Patent number: 10384235Abstract: A method of improving board feature quality grading facilitates human check grader reaction to grading output. The method entails specifying, for application by an automatic grading system to the faces of boards passing through a scanning zone, a virtual grade expressed by a range of values that overlap values in two of successive standard rule-based grades representing higher and lower board feature qualities; producing a signal in response to detection of a board feature quality representing a virtual grade value of a board analyzed by the automatic grading system; indicating, in response to the signal, a virtual grading designation onto the board to alert a check grader to assess whether the board exhibits board feature quality that exceeds the lower board feature quality; and assigning to the board the standard rule-based grade representing the higher board feature quality whenever the check grader's assessment concurs with the virtual grade designation.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2017Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: Lucidyne Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Hayden Michael Aronson, Ryan T. Shear

Patent number: 9678019Abstract: A lumber check grader-actuatable interface enables a check grader to interact with grade-quality measured boards of lumber conveyed along a flow path and passing in front of the check grader. The interface accurately and continuously tracks the location of each board in front of a check grader and tracks the location of the check grader's hands relative to the boards. Gestures can, therefore, be used for a selected board to perform additional actions, such as changing the grade or changing the trims. The interface enables a check grader to walk alongside and keep pace with a board of interest as it is transported and to provide feedback to the interface about a needed change for the board of interest. By knowing which board is of interest to a check grader, the interface can display additional information for only that board without overwhelming the check grader with non-stop information overload.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2015Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: Lucidyne Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Aaron R. Paul, Josh Miller, Mark Miller, Wendy Roberts, Mark Hiatt, Hayden Michael Aronson

Publication number: 20050244356Abstract: The invention provides methods of enhancing moisture or reducing drying using wet skin treatment composition. These compositions are activated by water and retained efficiently on skin. Thus, the compositions (and methods used) impart desirable benefits to skin, are perceived to absorb quickly on wet skin and leave the skin feeling clean, but non-greasy.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2005Publication date: November 3, 2005Inventors: Michael Aronson, Liang Tsaur

Patent number: 6700970Abstract: In a telephone system employing a PBX server to communicate with local telephones over a local area network, fallback adapters are provided to automatically respond to a power failure and also respond to the failure of the PBX server to automatically connect the telephones directly to a telephone line. This automatic connection enables the telephones to be used as analog phones and make and receive calls directly without using the PBX server. Power failure is detected by relays which default to a position to connect the telephones directly to the telephone line. The fallback detectors have controller logic which detects the presence of a ringing signal on the telephone line and the failure of the PBX to respond to the ringing signal. In addition, the fallback detectors detect the failure of the PBX to respond when a telephone is used to attempt to make an outgoing call or a call to another one of the local telephones.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2000Date of Patent: March 2, 2004Assignee: AOX IncorporatedInventors: Michael Aronson, Thomas Joseph Schmidt

Patent number: 6174845Abstract: The present invention relates to bar compositions in which an emollient composition comprising thickened entrapped emollient is added to a base bar composition at or during time of extrusion to form macroscopic, concentrated domains of emollient droplets. Addition of entrapped droplets allows far greater deposition than if the non-trapped emollients had been mixed in directly to form chips which are then extruded to form final bar.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1999Date of Patent: January 16, 2001Assignee: Lever Brothers Company, division of Conopco, Inc.Inventors: Gail Beth Rattinger, Georgia Shafer, James Dalton, Michael Massaro, Harry Crookham, Michael Aronson, Terence Farrell
