  • Patent number: 7865374
Abstract: Computerized methods for verifying authority to modify clinical orders are provided. The methods may include receiving a clinical order having components associated with a plurality of phases; associating a plurality of the components to form a cross-phase group, the components including components associated with a first phase and a second phase, each of the components including a common attribute; receiving an indication to modify the common attribute of the component associated with the first phase; and determining whether a user from whom the indication is received has the authority to modify the common attribute. If it is determined that the user has the authority, the method may further include modifying all components that are associated in the group. If it is determined that the user does not have the authority, the method may further include not modifying the common attribute. Computerized systems for performing the disclosed methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080004502
Abstract: Automatic triaging of patient information within a clinical computing environment is provided. Items of patient information are received, and each item is compared against predefined criteria to determine whether the item is time-sensitive. If an item satisfies a threshold of time-sensitivity, a key notification is provided for the item. A clinician may receive the key notification regardless of the view or application in which the clinician is working. The clinician may directly navigate from the key notification to the associated information, access additional information if necessary, and resolve the condition. Additionally, clinicians may control the triaging of information by specifying patient populations and thresholds required to trigger key notifications.

  • Publication number: 20070061171
Abstract: Methods and computer-readable media are disclosed for simultaneously displaying clinical orders and results that are new or have been updated since the last time a particular user saw a particular patient or last accessed that patient's data. Clinical data in a computerized healthcare system is accessed and filtered to display data created or updated subsequent to a temporal reference point unique to the particular user. A user interface containing a “since last time” tab is used to display the pertinent treatment data. User interfaces containing summary pop-up windows are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060136262
Abstract: A system and method for determining the start time of one or more healthcare orders in a computing environment is provided. A start time of a healthcare plan is received. The healthcare plan comprises two or more healthcare orders for a patient. A first offset time for a first healthcare order in the healthcare plan is received. The first offset time is the difference between when the healthcare plan begins and when the first healthcare order begins. A start time for the first healthcare order is determined based on the start time of the healthcare plan and the first offset time for the first healthcare order.
