Abstract: A system for securing a floor mat with respect to a carpet within a vehicle that may include a carpet grommet configured to secure to the carpet, a mat grommet configured to secure to the floor mat, and a locking ring secured to or within one of the carpet grommet or the mat grommet. The locking ring includes first ramped shelves configured to securely abut reciprocal ramped surfaces formed on the other of the carpet grommet or the mat grommet. The first ramped shelves are angled in a non-perpendicular and non-parallel manner with respect to a central longitudinal axis of the system, wherein the locking ring secures the carpet grommet to the mat grommet. The carpet grommet may also include an auger configured to pierce and secure into the carpet.

Abstract: A two-part buckle is provided with male and female components and associated surfaces for engagement one against the other when the male buckle component is inserted in the female buckle component. A portion of the female buckle component defines a lever for deflecting the male buckle component and disassociating the engaging surfaces for releasing the male buckle component from the female buckle component. A lanyard is secured to the lever for operating the lever portion of the female buckle component.

Abstract: A phone connector assembly for cellular phones that lack locking connector capability, including a cup-shaped member for cradling the phone having a base at one end with terminal contact pins, and a flexible retainer at the other end which snap-locks into a recess in the top of the phone and holds the phone securely in the cup-shaped member.

Abstract: A protective enclosure apparatus includes a base and a cover. The base includes a plurality of pins each including cap portion. The cap portion includes a contact surface. A cover includes a plurality of cover openings formed therein for receiving the pins and a latch portion communicating with each of the cover openings. The latch portion is angled to allow an end portion of the latch portion to engage with the contact surface and to allow the latch portion to be biased toward the plurality pins when the cover is pulled away from the base.

Abstract: It is possible to manufacture articles out of thermoplastic materials and to metallize the articles at their surface. In this way one can manufacture reflectors and similar articles. Most thermoplastic materials require extra processing steps prior to the metallization like application of primers, chemical etching and the like.The invention is based on the discovery that a certain type of materials can be metallized without any extra processing steps. The materials involved are polyestercarbonates or blends of polyestercarbonates and polycarbonate. This is quite surprising since polycarbonates can not be metallized in good quality without extra processing steps prior to the metallization step.
