  • Patent number: 10515789
Abstract: A method of operating a mass spectrometer comprising: detecting a first ion species using a first gain setting of a detector or a first emission current for a first mass-to-charge range; detecting a second ion species using a second gain setting of the detector or a second emission current for a second mass-to-charge range; and using the detected first and second ion species to calibrate the mass range of a mass analyzer of the mass spectrometer, to tune the resolution of the mass analyzer, or to tune an ion optic of the mass spectrometer.

  • Publication number: 20140122313
Abstract: A control apparatus comprising a first control interface generating a display containing a plurality of function types and receiving a first function type selection. A second control interface generating a display containing a plurality of parameters associated with the selected function type and receiving a parameter selection. A chart interface displaying historical data for a variable and receiving a first and second cursor selection from a user interface device control and generating chart location data associated with the first and second cursor selection. A function controller receiving the location data associated with the first cursor selection and executing a second related function if the chart location data associated with the first cursor selection is within allowable location data and executing the selected function after execution of the second related function if the chart location data is within allowable location data associated with the first selected function.

  • Patent number: 5485972
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a wound cable pack having uniform pitch and inporating a twist per turn in a cable. A drum is constrained to rotational movement around an axis of rotation. A non-rotating spool, sized to fit within the drum and having a central longitudinal axis coaxial with the drum's axis of rotation, is constrained to linear movement along the axis of rotation within the drum. A cable feeding assembly is mounted to the drum for rotation therewith. The cable feeding assembly leads the cable over one end of the spool prior to being fed onto the spool from a feed point. In this way, a twist is induced in the cable as the cable feeding assembly orbits about the spool. An electromechanical system is operatively connected to the drum and the spool to synchronize the rotational movement of the drum with the linear movement of the spool.

  • Patent number: 5109577
Abstract: A device and method for shortening a cable or line includes a winding mem having a winding surface for forming one or more transverse windings of an otherwise longitudinally oriented cable or line. The device includes elements located on the winding surface for redirecting the cable or line from its original longitudinal orientation to a transverse winding orientation. There may further be included an element for preventing the cable or line windings from overlapping one another.
