  • Publication number: 20040134764
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive train for a displaceable contact (1) on a breaker contact arrangement in an electrical power breaker, whereby a coupling element (3), displaceable against a stop (12) and arranged between the moveable contact (1) and corresponding drive element (8), is provided with an anti-bounce device, comprising a catch element (13) and a counter piece (14). The catch element (13) which may be swung into a catch position as a result of the inertia exerted on the centre of gravity (16) thereof, when the coupling element (3) strikes the stop (12), comprises a working surface (22) extending in the pivoting direction (23) to form a momentary working connection with the counter piece (14). A retaining spring (32) is additionally provided on the catch element (13) to guarantee that a rebounding of the coupling element (3) into the position corresponding to the closed state of the breaker contact arrangement does not occur.

  • Patent number: 6754059
Abstract: A current measuring device for a multi-pole voltage circuit breaker includes a support body with a through opening for a current conductor for each of the poles and a receiving chamber, surrounding the through opening for secondary components of current sensors and/or current transformers. The support body is essentially plate-like and rectangular and forms part of the rear wall of the circuit breaker. Should Rogowski coils be used as secondary components of a transformer, then adjustable voltage dividers are also mounted on the support body for interdependent adjustment. The multi-pole current measuring device simplifies the production of circuit breakers as approved components.

  • Publication number: 20040066257
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching contact, wherein a rocker-type leaf spring is used as a contact force spring (8) in order to produce the contact force required for a contact lever (2), the drag bearing (10) thereof being disposed between the point of rotation (11) of the contact lever (2) on a contact carrier (1) and a contact-making end piece (18) of the contact lever (2). Preferably, the drag bearing (10) is formed by a bend of the contact force spring (8) and a sliding surface (19) disposed on the contact carrier (1). The drag bearing (10) of the contact force spring (8) can be displaced without a fixed link along the sliding surface (19) according to the tension of the contact force spring (8). If the switching contact arrangement has several contact levers (multiple contact arrangement) all of the associated contact force springs can be combined to form a one-piece leaf spring (23).

  • Publication number: 20040056744
Abstract: A low-voltage power circuit breaker includes a current-limiting opening of a mobile switching contact. The force-transmitting connection between the actuating shaft lever and the mobile switching contact or the contact support is provided in the form of a latching device and includes two identical levers, which can pivot in relation to one another around an articulated joint and which are joined to one another by way of the articulated joint that is formed by a joint pin guided through aligned continuous borings provided in concentric parts of the levers. The contact surfaces of the levers have slanted surfaces that serve as a tooth. In the vicinity of the articulated joint, the levers are subjected to the action of an adjustable spring force, which is exerted by a pressure spring and which acts upon the tooth.

  • Publication number: 20040026377
Abstract: An arc extinguisher for low voltage switchgear, switching in air, includes a universally applicable variable attachment for adjustment of the arc extinguisher chamber to meet increased demands. The attachment is in the form of a chimney-like arc extinguisher chamber extension, for increasing the volume of the arc extinguisher chamber. It represents a moulded piece with a lower outline which exactly matches the outline of the arc extinguisher chamber cover, normally located on the arc extinguisher chamber and with an upper outline, identical to the upper outline of the switchgear housing for mounting the arc extinguisher chamber cover. Any number of attachments may be used in a stacked manner.

  • Patent number: 6689979
Abstract: A switching contact arrangement for a low-voltage power circuit breaker includes a switching contact arrangement with a stationary contact group and a movable contact group which interacts with it. The contact groups include interacting main contacts, as well as interacting intermediate contacts and consumable contacts. Furthermore, both contact groups are equipped with an arcing horn for passing a switching arc to an arc quenching chamber. The consumable contacts are integrated in the arcing horns. Only the main contacts are in the form of contact facings, while the other contact points are formed by the busbars or arcing horns. The switching contact arrangement is of a single design and achieves a longer mechanical and electrical life. Furthermore, particularly short switching times are achieved.

  • Patent number: 6657524
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes a switching contact arrangement and a drive apparatus which operates it, with the connection between the switching contact arrangement and the drive apparatus being designed such that it is detachable. For this purpose, a contact support of the switching contact arrangement contains a coupling bolt, which produces a hinged connection to a lever arrangement for the drive apparatus. A holding piece allows a actuating shaft of the drive apparatus to be rotated to a position, and to be fixed in this position. This allows the switching contact arrangement to be removed without any problem, and subsequently to be replaced by another switching contact arrangement. Once the control panel for the circuit breaker has been removed, the holding piece can be placed on the actuating shaft and can be attached to a front housing body of the circuit breaker where the control panel would otherwise be located.
