    Abstract: A method and apparatus for capturing and converting radio frequency (“RF”) radiation emitted from an electronic device are disclosed. In at least certain embodiments, the method includes capturing at least a portion of the RF radiation emitted from an electronic device and converting it into DC current that can be used for a number of different functional purposes. The electrical energy from the DC current can be used to drive an apparatus including a circuit that provides an indication as to when absorption of RF radiation occurs and its relative intensity. One of the advantages of these techniques is that users can be protected from the potential harmful effects of long-term exposure to the RF radiation emitted from electronic devices, particularly wireless phones which are often held in close proximity to a user's body. The indication can provide users with an indication that the circuit is redirecting RF radiation away from their bodies and dissipating it as electrical energy.

    Abstract: One preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a system and method for suppressing motion interference in a radar detection system. Briefly described, in architecture, one embodiment of the system, among others, can be implemented as follows. The system includes a signal generator that transmits microwave signals toward a target area. Also, the system includes a data control system to collect data from reflected microwave signals from the target area and to analyze the data in order to suppress unwanted motion interference generated by movement of the radar detection system. Other systems and methods are also provided.

    Abstract: The present invention is a electrosurgical device having an elongated tubular member with a cutting and coagulating arrangement at its distal end and a handle at its proximal end. The coagulating and cutting instrument consists of two electrode jaw members with cutting blade extending therebetween. The cutting blade is connected to a movable rod extending through the lumen of the tubular member. A first and second conductor pair extend through the lumen of the tubular member in a spaced apart parallel arrangement with the cutting instrument and its movable rod extending therebetween. The first and second conductor pairs form the forceps jaws. The forceps jaws have a slot for receiving the cutting instrument therebetween. The handle member affixed to the proximal end of the tubular member includes a selector switch used for selecting a mode of movement of the jaws so that either unidirectional mode or a bidirectional mode can be selected.
