  • Patent number: 10347091
Abstract: An automated teller machine (“ATM”) is described. The ATM can be provided with an interface area which includes a display unit and one or more sensors. The display unit can move relative to the interface area so that the display is better accessible for a user of the ATM. For example, the display can make translational or rotational movements, e.g., telescoping movements. The ATM can include a sensor which can detect an object, a location for the object and a distance from the object. Using this information, the ATM can move or guide the display in a direction which makes the display more accessible for the user.

  • Patent number: 10345209
Abstract: A fusion bead testing device is provided for testing the strength of a fusion bead removed from a pipe joint. The testing device comprises a first pressing means for exerting a force against the fusion bead. If the fusion bead splits as a result of the applied force then the fusion bead fails a quality control test and the fusion bead and consequently the pipe joint from which the bead was removed are deemed too weak. The fusion bead testing apparatus comprises an automatic split detection device for detecting a split in the bead.

  • Publication number: 20180225937
Abstract: A barrier alarm device for reducing the number of false alarms that may occur in a home security system. In one embodiment, a barrier alarm device, such as a door or window sensor, determines whether a barrier, such as a door or a window, has been opened, determines whether a human being is in proximity to the door or window inside a monitored premises. If a human being is inside the monitored premises when the door or window is opened, it indicates that the human being is authorized to be inside the monitored premises, and an alarm signal is not transmitted to a central security panel, thus reducing false alarms.

  • Patent number: 10038703
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for profiling network-level malicious activity. Profiling embodiments include observing malicious activity, representing such activity in accordance with a set of representative features, capturing temporal evolution of this malicious behavior and its dynamics, and using this temporal evolution to reveal key risk related properties of these networks. Embodiments are further disclosed addressing the connectedness of various networks and similarity in network-level maliciousness. Embodiments directed to similarity analyses include focusing on the notion of similarity—a quantitative measure of the extent to which the dynamic evolutions of malicious activities from two networks are alike, and mapping this behavioral similarity to their similarity in certain spatial features, which includes their relative proximity to each other and may be used to help predict the future maliciousness of a particular network.

  • Publication number: 20180131534
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting remote network devices. In one embodiment, the method comprises detecting an event and a) transmitting a message requesting a response from one or more remote network devices, the message comprising a first network identification code, and b) determining whether a response to the message has been received, the response transmitted by a remote network device after receiving the message and determining that the first network identification code matches a second network identification code stored within the remote network device, the response comprising identification information of the remote network device. If c) a response has not been received, terminating the method for detecting remote network devices if a pre-determined time period has elapsed since transmitting the message. If d) a response has been received, storing identification information associated with the responding remote network device and repeating steps a-d until no further responses are received.
