  • Publication number: 20140094757
Abstract: A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery where interaction of the cartridge holder with the module bypass housing changes the module to a triggerable state. The medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggerable state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after removal from the injection site.

Restraining features are present on the module to prevent the needle guard from moving relative to the device, in a trigger locked position.

The medicated module is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery where a locking plate is moved to a triggering state. The medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggering state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after dose delivery.

Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after dose delivery. A biasing member is provided within the medicated module that may be in a first, trigger-locked position within a secondary packaging, and a second, triggerable position when removed from the secondary packaging to prevent accidental triggering of the device prior to removal from its packaging by the user at the point of use.

  • Publication number: 20120310172
Abstract: A drug delivery device (10) is given, comprising a body (12) and a moveable button member (14), wherein in a pre-ready state of the drug delivery device (10) there is a misalignment between the body (12) and the button member (14). This misalignment is perceivable by a user of the drug delivery device (10). In a ready state of the drug delivery device (10), the button member (14) and the body (12) are aligned and the alignment is perceivable by a user of the drug delivery device (10).

  • Publication number: 20120302964
Abstract: An assembly of a drug delivery device with a longitudinal axis (L) is given, comprising a body (1) with a proximal end (2) and a distal end (3). The drug delivery device further comprises a drive assembly and a first button member (4). The drive assembly is at least partially arranged within the body (1) and is adapted to facilitate dispense of a medicinal product. The first button member (4) acts on the drive assembly to prepare the drug delivery device for dispensing the medicinal product. The first button member (4) is adapted to be detachable from the body (1) after the preparation of the drug delivery device is completed.

  • Publication number: 20120296285
Abstract: An assembly of a drug delivery device comprises a body (10) having a distal end (11) and a proximal end (12), a drive assembly (4) arranged substantially within the body (10) to facilitate dispense of a medicinal product and a button member (5) arranged at the proximal end (12) of the body (10) and adapted to act upon the drive assembly (4). The drive assembly (4) has an initial pre-ready state, a transient state and a ready state; in the pre-ready and transient states the button member (5) is twistable with respect to the body (10) to act upon the drive assembly (4) and wherein in the ready state the button member (5) is axially moveable but not substantially twistable with respect to the body (10) to act upon the drive assembly (4) to dispense a dose of the medicinal product.
