  • Publication number: 20190209290
Abstract: A method and device for removing the gelatinous filler of a ruptured breast implant is disclosed. The device has a large bore collection nozzle with large internal diameter and a short length so that it can transport a viscous gel using the suction pressure drop typically available in a hospital operating room and a collection container attached to the nozzle that has an internal volume to accommodate the filler. The container has a suction fitting for communication with a hospital suction port distal from the collection container and grasping means for manipulating the container.

  • Patent number: 6500199
Abstract: A flexible bag is formed with a opening for placing the bag about the head of the patient and a separate connector for connection to an air supply. The open end has a closure unit permitting the collapse of the opening about the neck to enclose the head. Alternatively, the open end can be placed beneath the ears and over the nose to enclose the upper portion of the head. A separation wall within the bag separates and defines an upper air supply chamber and a lower head heating chamber. The wall has openings including flaps to distribute the air from the air supply chamber to the head enclosing chamber and thereby heating the head with the blood passing therefrom to heat the body of the patient. The head heating chamber includes air directing elements therein. The air supply chamber is L-shaped to direct air over the top of the head and to the side or back of the head.

  • Patent number: 6033320
Abstract: A utility golf club including a shaft having a grip at a first end and a metal wood-type head at the second end. The golf club has a length which is typical for putters and the metal wood-type head has a weight which is also typical of many putters. The lie or angle between the shaft and horizontal is upright and the angle of the front face of the head is generally similar to typical wood clubs, such as the number 3 through 5 woods. The golf club may be used with a familiar putting stroke from a variety of positions on the golf course to achieve chip shots, bump-and-run shots, sand shots and trouble shots.

  • Patent number: 5964482
Abstract: In a connection between a pipe and a molding, a tubular housing, fixed on the molding, engages around the pipe with an inner wall tapering conically toward the free end of the housing. Arranged between the pipe and the housing inner wall is a clamping ring, which braces the pipe with the housing in a wedge-like manner. The clamping ring is held in its wedging functional position by a spring element acting on it in the axial direction. The spring element can be locked in a prestressed state without force acting on the clamping ring. To establish the connection between the pipe and the molding, a locking clip passing through the housing is pulled out of the housing to relax the spring element.

  • Patent number: 5687951
Abstract: A new and improved drain valve for use with plastic fluid flow components, such as pipes, conduits, fittings, joints and the like is provided. The drain valves include a thermoplastic housing which is directly attached by welding or heat-fusion bonding to a plastic line component or is molded in during the molding step for making the line component. Valving members are assembled to the plastic housing to provide for selective drainage of the plastic line components as desired. The new and improved drain valves permit incorporation of drain valves into plastic conduits and fluid flow systems in a sealed and secure manner substantially in the absence of secondary sealing members.

  • Patent number: 5670012
Abstract: A fitting formed as a welding sleeve has, preferably, two heating elements and is provided in the region of the plug contacts with a plate which can be inserted into a recess. On the plate is arranged a resistor and the connections for measuring the ohmic resistance by means of a welding apparatus. By measuring the resistance, the type of the fitting can be identified and the current to be fed to the welding apparatus determined.

  • Patent number: 5419772
Abstract: An irrigation system includes an elongated, hand-held instrument for applying a solution spray to a surgical area of a patient during surgery. The instrument includes an elongated handle having an outer ribbed surface to be hand-held. The handle has a central passageway between an inlet end and a discharge end. A nose is secured to the discharge end of the handle with a flow control valve secured within the handle. Nozzles are selectively connected to the nose to create selected flow patterns at the surgical site. The valve has an external pushbutton actuator to control the solution flow through a passageway in the body and nose. A pressurized liquid supply includes a sealed disposable, liquid solution filled bag and a sterile tube connected to the inlet end of the body. The solution bag is releasably supported within a pressurizing bag which in turn is carried on a portable stand unit.
