  • Patent number: 7748702
Abstract: A method and a device combine auxiliary and main stacks in a delivery or feeder of a machine for processing printing materials. The device includes a rake that can be moved in and out between the main and auxiliary stacks by a motor drive. A control computer controls the motor drive of the rake. Different speed profiles are stored in the control computer for the drive of the rake as a function of the printing materials in the stacks. A sheet-fed offset printing press having the device is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7490825
Abstract: A method for synchronizing the motion sequences of at least one main pile and at least one auxiliary pile in a feeder or delivery device of a printing material processing machine (20) having the following features: a drive (7) for moving the main pile (4) and a main pile controller (12) associated with the drive (7), an additional drive (11) for moving the auxiliary pile (9) and an auxiliary pile controller (13) associated with the additional drive (11). The auxiliary pile controller (13) receives from main pile controller (12) or from a further, higher-level machine controller (14) a start signal to move the auxiliary pile (9), the start signal simultaneously initiating a movement of the main pile (4). A related device is provided.

  • Patent number: 6978996
Abstract: A machine for processing flat printing material, in particular a sheet processing rotary printing press, includes at least one processing station in the form of a printing unit, a feeder for loading the processing station with sheets of the printing material, a delivery for combining the processed sheets into piles, and an auxiliary pile carrier displaceable in an insertion direction from a standby position into an operational position and vice versa. Supporting members follow one another in the insertion direction and axially parallel swivel joints articulatingly connect the supporting members directly to one another. The supporting members have extensions projecting beyond the swivel joints thereof. One of the extensions directed counter to the insertion direction of a respective one of the supporting members engages underneath one of the extensions directed in the insertion direction of the respective supporting member after the next which trails in the insertion direction.

  • Publication number: 20050218583
Abstract: An apparatus for picking up an auxiliary stack when conveying sheets in a printing machine that makes it possible to reduce constraining forces when guiding loadbearing elements. The apparatus has loadbearing elements disposed on a crossmember for the auxiliary stack, the loadbearing elements being fastened to the crossmember so as to pivot in at least two degrees of freedom.

  • Patent number: 6006670
Abstract: A device for handling a sheet pile in a printing press includes a pile chamber with at least one opening of a size at least through which the pile is passable horizontally, a lifting platform in the pile chamber for receiving the sheet pile thereon, a lift drive for vertically adjusting the platform, and a screen assigned to the opening and adjustable between a first operating condition wherein the screen covers the opening, and a second operating condition wherein the opening is free from being covered by the screen. A conveyor section horizontally shifts the pile through the opening when the lifting platform is at a transfer level. The conveyor section includes a first conveyor subsection within the pile chamber and at least a second conveyor subsection outside and adjoining the pile chamber. The first and second subsections have alternating states of occupancy during operation. They are alternately occupied by a pile and not occupied by a pile.
