  • Patent number: 11946478
Abstract: There is provided a fan assembly comprising a motor-driven impeller arranged to generate an airflow, an air outlet arranged to emit the airflow, a plurality of sensors arranged to measure a value for each of a plurality of air quality characteristics, a display and a processor. The processor is configured to receive measured values for each of the plurality of air quality characteristics, identify one of a corresponding set of intervals within which the measured value falls and select an air quality index value associated with the identified interval. The processor is then configured to identify the highest of the selected air quality index values as a current overall air quality index value and to cause the display to display a time series plot of the current air quality index value and a number of preceding air quality index values.

  • Publication number: 20200025334
Abstract: Systems and methods for transporting and managing LNG are contemplated. A source of LNG is pumped to a pressure higher than a consumer pressure, and is vaporized to provide vaporized LNG. The vaporized LNG is transported from a first location to a second location without the need for cryogenic equipment. At the second location, the vaporized LNG is expanded to the consumer pressure or a second pressure below the consumer pressure to generate refrigeration content suitable to reliquefy at least a portion of the vaporized LNG. A reliquefied natural gas is generated at the second location while providing a natural gas product to a downstream consumer at the consumer pressure.

  • Patent number: 8332198
Abstract: A method and apparatus for testing the functionality of a circuit design uses working system data that is recorded in real-time to stimulate and/or verify a software simulation of the circuit design that does not run in real-time. In a selected embodiment, a system for simulating and verifying a software model of a baseband module circuit design is described in connection with using real-time input and output data captured from a corresponding circuit in a reference platform. The captured real-time data may include digital baseband I/Q samples and/or extracted control data pertaining to the signal level, channel frequency, gain, output power, frequency offset, DC offset, or the like. The captured data may be regenerated for use as a stimulus for the software model of the circuit design and/or to verify the functionality of the design.

  • Publication number: 20120210871
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing methane and other gases are disclosed. A representative method in accordance with one embodiment includes directing a first portion of a gas stream through a first adsorbent while exchanging heat between a second adsorbent and a third adsorbent. The method can further include directing a second portion of the gas stream through the third adsorbent while exchanging heat between the first and second adsorbents. The method can still further include directing a third portion of the gas stream through the second adsorbent while exchanging heat between the first and third adsorbents. In further particular aspects, the adsorbent can be used to remove carbon dioxide from a flow of methane. In other particular aspects, a heat exchange fluid that is not in direct contact with the adsorbents is used to transfer heat among the adsorbents.

  • Publication number: 20110265494
Abstract: A liquefied natural gas production and storage scheme for offshore liquefaction of stranded gas reserves using a processing vessel and a liquefaction and storage shuttle vessel. The processing vessel includes the typical steps of condensate management, pre-treatment and compression. The processing vessel also recompresses a recycle gas from the LNG production and storage vessel. The high pressure, treated natural gas is fed to the LNG production and storage vessel that has minimal processing equipment consisting of at least a heat exchanger, an isentropic expander, a separator vessel, and a small LP compressor. The liquefier on the liquefaction and storage vessel are designed to generate a high liquid yield without the need for excessive operating pressures or multiple refrigerants circulating between vessels.

  • Patent number: 8000735
Abstract: A wireless communications device includes a host processing unit, a modem processing unit, and a memory transport interface. The wireless communications device typically runs a variety of software tasks, some of which require considerably more memory than others. By processing the memory intensive tasks with the host processing unit and assigning tasks requiring high computing power but relatively smaller memory to the modem processor unit, a smaller on-chip memory can be used for the modem processor unit tasks. In addition, by using a messaging transport interface to transfer data between tasks running on different processing units, smaller local memories can be used in place of a shared memory. For example, by allocating and storing L1 tasks at the modem processing unit and allocating/storing L2 and L3 tasks at the host processing unit, duplicate memory components may be reduced or removed, thereby lowering system costs and improving system efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7325250
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing radio communication system access by an unauthorized modem. The apparatus comprises a signal detector that determines if an authorization signal has been received from the base station within a specified period of time. The authorization signal authorizes the apparatus to communicate with the base station. A transmitter transmits information to the base station, and a controller disables the transmitter of the apparatus providing that the authorization signal has not been received within the specified period of time.
