  • Publication number: 20060140784
Abstract: A portable air compressor assembly includes a tubular frame having a pair of parallelogram shaped side sections. A support plate is connected between the side sections and horizontally positioned in a compressor normal operating position. A plurality of operating components connect to the support plate. A fluid pressure tank is supported perpendicular to the side sections and forward of the operating components. The frame envelopes the operating components' outer perimeter and angularly extends to a stop point rearward of the operating components. When tipped rearward to the stop point, the compressor assembly returns by gravity to the compressor normal operating position. An instrument and connector panel including an engine on/off switch is mounted in a protected position. Wheels and structural feet are removable and a handle is retractable and removable for shipping.

  • Publication number: 20050175475
Abstract: A portable air compressor (10) includes a motor (24) having an output shaft (76) and a compressor (18) having an input shaft (66). The compressor (18) further includes a lower mounting surface (64) and an upper cooling surface (60). The upper cooling surface (60) lies in a common plane with the output shaft (76) of the motor (24). A drive linkage (26) operably couples the output shaft (76) of the motor (24) for concurrent rotation with the input shaft (66) of the compressor (18). A fan (80) is coupled for rotation with the output shaft (76) of the motor (24) and directs air across the upper cooling surface (60).

  • Patent number: 6623155
Abstract: A static mixer comprising a group of deflector elements distributed within a conduit through which a fluid flows in a direction generally parallel to an axis of the conduit. Each deflector element defines a surface which is inclined to the conduit axis such that fluid is deflected by the surface in a direction transverse to that axis. The deflector elements are positioned so as to generate an asymmetric vortex flow such that the intensities of adjacent vortices are different. The deflection elements may be in the form of, for example, asymmetric pairs of tabs, for example spaced apart pairs of tabs of different lengths. The angle of inclination of the tabs to the conduit axis may be adjustable.

  • Patent number: 5774319
Abstract: A self-powered circuit interrupter arrangement for interrupting current in a circuit path uses a current-blocking component to ensure that an insufficient amount of accumulated power for actuating and completing interruption of the circuit path is not misused in an unwarranted attempt to interrupt the current path. The arrangement includes a current inducer circuit for providing a current signal having a magnitude corresponding to the current in the circuit path and a power supply operating from the current signal to provide a voltage signal of a predetermined value relative to common. A trip command circuit, in response to a fault detected in the circuit path, sends an electrical signal commanding that the circuit path be interrupted by using the voltage signal. The electrical signal is sent to an electrical latch located electrically in series with a coil of a solenoid mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5189951
Abstract: A sheet material support system includes a floating box having upwardly extending leading edges defining a plane extending parallel to said base in which sheet material is caused to conform to by applying downward pressure to it and causing the sheet material to become tautly drawn over the box upper edges. The system includes a locating block and clamps which allow frames to be located uniformly along X and Y coordinate axes so that successive frames can be loaded in uniform registration in the system.

  • Patent number: 5117922
Abstract: An isolator assembly is disclosed for supporting internal component inside a pneumatic underground piercing tool having an axial body propelled by impact forces of a striker responsive to the application of compressed air. The isolator assembly is comprised of an isolator housing mounted to the body of the piercing tool in a manner that allows relative axial movement between the body and the isolator housing. The internal components to be protected from the impact forces are mounted on the isolator housing. An elastomeric member is positioned to permit the isolator housing and internal components mounted thereon to move resiliently in the axial direction relative to the body of the piercing tool during each impact of the striker.
