  • Publication number: 20240078285
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments relate to accelerating multiplication of sparse matrices. In one example, a processor is to fetch and decode an instruction having fields to specify locations of first, second, and third matrices, and an opcode indicating the processor is to multiply and accumulate matching non-zero (NZ) elements of the first and second matrices with corresponding elements of the third matrix, and executing the decoded instruction as per the opcode to generate NZ bitmasks for the first and second matrices, broadcast up to two NZ elements at a time from each row of the first matrix and each column of the second matrix to a processing engine (PE) grid, each PE to multiply and accumulate matching NZ elements of the first and second matrices with corresponding elements of the third matrix. Each PE further to store an NZ element for use in a subsequent multiplications.

  • Publication number: 20220358631
Abstract: A method includes capturing images of a surface of a workpiece using an optical sensor. Each image respectively images a region of the surface. Each image is assigned a defined 6-DOF pose of the optical sensor relative to the workpiece and a defined focal plane position of the optical sensor. The captured images form an image stack. The method includes determining a sharpness value for each picture element of each image of the image stack to generate a sharpness map for each image. The sharpness maps of the images form a sharpness map stack. The method includes transforming the sharpness maps of the sharpness map stack into a defined reference system based on the respective assigned 6-DOF pose and focal plane position of the optical sensor in order to generate a sharpness cloud. The method includes generating a surface profile of the workpiece based on the sharpness cloud.

  • Patent number: 9522798
Abstract: A box machine is retrofitted by removing the upper feed roll, sheet feeder, and by replacing the lower feed roll with a drive shaft. A transport section and a sheet feeder are then inserted into the box machine. The transport section comprises transport wheels driven by the drive shaft which engage a sheet to transport it to the box machine without crushing. The sheet feeder comprises feed wheels driven by a servo motor for feeding the lowermost sheet of a stack to the transport section. A feed interrupter is movable from a raised stop-feed position to a lowered feed position by cams rotated by a servo motor. A controller coordinates the velocity of the feed wheels and position of the feed interrupter. Retrofitted machines eliminate the need to increase Edge Crush Test ratings of sheets from the corrugator 15% to 20% greater than printed in the certificate stamp.
