Publication number: 20070106666Abstract: Provided are a techniques for determining a frequency distribution for a set of records. A count table of frequency distributions is built in memory for each field in the set of records, wherein each record of each count table includes a field identifier, a field value, and a count of a number of times the field value occurs in the set of records, and wherein the field identifier concatenated with the field value comprises a composite key value. It is determined that at least one count table of frequency distributions is approaching a maximum amount of memory allocated to that count table. The records of the at least one count table that is approaching the maximum amount of memory are sent for sorting and additional counting, wherein the records include composite key values.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2005Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventors: Michael Beckerle, Jerry Callen

Publication number: 20030222165Abstract: A fixture for receiving a videotape cassette has a pair of mechanical releases for engaging and operating the mechanical interlocks inhibiting the free access to the videotape contained within therein, thereby exposing a section of videotape and permitting the editing of the tape after being permanently installed within a cassette. A tab having a relatively narrow stem portion and relatively wider base portion includes a releasable dollop of adhesive or double sided adhesive carrier near the stem end and is used in the following method. A new start position for a videotape may be conveniently fixed to eliminate from viewing the otherwise annoying leader material by adhering the tab to the new start position until the tape clears any interfering tension roller, self peeling the tab leaving the exposed adhesive by advancing the tape into the cassette, and wrapping the tape around itself on the wind up spool to adhere two layers of tape together and thereby define the new start position.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2002Publication date: December 4, 2003Inventors: Paul Michael Beckerle, John M. Charnecki, Raymond E. Ragland
