  • Patent number: 8699731
Abstract: For generating a low-frequency channel for a low-frequency loudspeaker arranged at a predetermined low-frequency loudspeaker position, a plurality of audio objects are initially provided, each audio object having an object position and an object description associated with it. Hereafter, a calculation of an audio object scaling value is performed for each audio object on the basis of the object description, so that an actual amplitude state at least comes close to a target amplitude state at a reference playback position. Thereafter, each object signal is scaled with an associated audio object scaling value so as to then sum the scaled object signals. From the composite signal obtained there, a low-frequency channel is subsequently derived for the low-frequency loudspeaker, and is provided to the respective low-frequency loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 8326112
Abstract: An apparatus for performing a correlation between a test sound signal replayable at variable speed and a reference sound signal, which is a digitally stored version of the test sound signal, has a determinator for determining a measure for the replay speed of a test sound signal; a variator for varying a test sound signal sampling rate, to generate a modified test sound signal depending on the measure for the replay speed, or for varying a reference sound signal sampling rate, to generate a modified reference sound signal depending on the measure for the replay speed, the variator being formed to vary the test or reference sampling rate so that a deviation between a test or modified test sound signal replay speed and a reference or modified reference sound signal replay speed is reduced; and a comparator for comparing the test or modified test sound signal and the reference or modified reference sound signal to obtain a correlation result.

  • Patent number: 8189824
Abstract: In a reproduction area where there are at least three directional groups, each of which has speakers, triggering of the speakers is achieved in that a source path from a first directional group position to a second directional group position is initially obtained along with movement information for the source path. Subsequently, a source path parameter is calculated for different points in time on the basis of the movement information, the source path parameter indicating a position of an audio source on the source path. In addition, a path modification command is received to define a compensation path to the third directional zone, a value of the source path parameter further being stored at a location where the compensation path deviates from the source path, and being used, along with a compensation parameter, for calculating weighting factors for the speakers of the three directional groups.

  • Patent number: 8160280
Abstract: In a reproduction environment, speakers are grouped in directional groups, wherein the directional groups overlap with respect to the associated speakers so that speakers are present which have a speaker parameter having different values for the first directional group and the second directional group. A controller for controlling a plurality of speakers has a provider for providing a source position of an audio source, wherein the source position is located between the first directional group position and the second directional group position. The apparatus further has a calculator for calculating a speaker signal for the at least one speaker, based on the first parameter value for the speaker parameter and based on the second parameter value for the speaker parameter.

  • Patent number: 8090126
Abstract: A particle generator for generating a speaker signal for a speaker channel in a multi-channel reproduction environment includes a position generator for providing a plurality of positions where the audio source is to occur, as well as a time generator for providing times of occurrence when the audio source is to occur, a time being associated with a position. Also, an individual pulse response generator for generating individual pulse response information for each position of the plurality of positions is provided. A combination pulse response is formed by a pulse response combiner for combining the individual pulse response information in accordance with the times of occurrence. This overall pulse response is finally used to adjust a filter with which the audio signal is finally filtered.

  • Patent number: 7706544
Abstract: An audio reproduction system is divided into a central wave-field synthesis module and a plurality of loudspeaker modules disposed in a distributed way, wherein synthesis signals for the individual loudspeakers as well as corresponding channel information associated to the synthesis signals are calculated in the central wave-field synthesis module. The synthesis signals for a loudspeaker as well as associated channel information will then be transmitted to respective loudspeaker modules via a transmission path, wherein every loudspeaker module obtains the synthesis signals and associated channel information intended for the loudspeaker associated to the loudspeaker module. A distributed audio rendering and digital/analog converting takes place in the loudspeaker module to generate the actually analog loudspeaker signals in a distributed way in spatial proximity to every loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 7283197
Abstract: A device for synchronizing an audio signal with a film comprising frames having imprinted time codes. A detector detects the imprinted time code for the sequence of frames to obtain a detected sequence of time codes. A time code generator generates a sequence of synthesis time codes based on an initial value. A decoder decodes a time code of the detected sequence of time codes obtain the initial value. A comparator compares a detected time code and a corresponding synthesis time code and, when a phase deviation is found to be above a deviation threshold value, a time code manipulator manipulates the synthesis time code for this frame in so far that it is changed with regard to its temporal length. An audio processor provides the samples of the audio signal associated with this frame in a time-controlled way in response to a detection of the synthesis time code for a frame.
