  • Patent number: 10786168
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing electrophysiological signals acquired from a subject are provided. In some aspects, a method includes receiving electrophysiological signals acquired from a subject using one or more sensors, and assembling a set of time-series data using the acquired electrophysiological signals. The method also includes analyzing the set of time-series data using a state-space multi-taper framework to generate spectral information describing the electrophysiological signals, and determining a brain state of the subject using the spectral information. The method further includes generating a report indicative of the determined brain state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 2017
Date of Patent: September 29, 2020
Assignees: The General Hospital Corporation, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Patent number: 9914493
Abstract: A motor vehicle (1) has a wheel arch (3), in which a wheel (4) is arranged, and has an air guiding apparatus (20) for guiding an air flow (8) that flows onto the wheel arch (3) during operation of the motor vehicle. The air guiding apparatus (20) is configured and arranged in such a way that a first part air flow (11) is guided past an inner side of the wheel (4) and a second part air flow (12) is guided past an outer side of the wheel (4). The two part air flows (11, 12) then are combined again behind the wheel arch (3) in a vehicle longitudinal direction.

  • Publication number: 20090263436
Abstract: The invention relates to a material that is used primarily for medical, long-term in vivo purposes, e.g. as a filling material in dentistry. The aim of the invention is to create a material primarily for medical, long-term in vivo use which does not have the disadvantages of materials used in prior art, does not release active substances, and endures after the material has been removed or when the shape thereof is modified. The aim is achieved by the fact that the material is made of polymers and filling agents which are embodied as polymer-coated, chemically modified particles that carry hydroxyl groups and are surrounded by a matrix of another polymer. The coating polymer develops an antimicrobial effect.

  • Publication number: 20060115616
Abstract: The invention relates to a protector for protecting a timber pole against subsoil decay. The protector, referred to specifically as a field liner, comprises a flexible sheet element in the form of a laminate structure including a plurality of material layers that provide the sheet element with required properties to serve as a field liner. For its field liner application the sheet element is used either in its sheet form as such, or in a sleeve form, both forms providing for the sheet element to be wrapped around a pole to be protected, the sleeve form providing for such wrapping after having been applied over the pole to cover the region to be protected. An adhesive substance applied to a suitable region of the sheet element then permits securing of the sheet element on the pole in its operative configuration tightly wrapped around the pole.

  • Publication number: 20050042415
Abstract: The invention relates to a field liner for protecting a timber pole against subsoil decay. The field liner includes a sleeve, that can be loosely located on a pole for covering the region of the pole to be protected, and a covering sheet that is secured to and extends from the sleeve in a configuration in which, with the sleeve located on a pole, the covering sheet can be tightly drawn and held around the sleeve for holding the sleeve tightly against the pole. The sleeve includes at least a flexible, liquid impermeable, non-biodegradable, synthetic plastics film material layer, whereas the covering sheet is formed of a flexible, non-biodegradable, woven synthetic plastics sheet material.
