  • Publication number: 20150173340
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a trap for flying pests that does not require the use of chemicals and can be packaged in such a way that it can be present in public areas without being unsightly or intrusive. The trap is reusable, easy to set up, easy to clean, and easy to operate. An example trap includes an outer wall containing a solution, an inner wall extending into the solution, and a space formed between the outer wall and the inner wall. The trap also includes an air pump and one or more air supply conduits that supply air from the air pump to the solution. The air forms bubbles in the solution that rise in the space formed between the outer wall and the inner wall and that cascade downward within the inner wall and into the solution. The cascading bubbles serve to capture flies that land on the bubbles and retain the flies within the trap.

  • Publication number: 20090215588
Abstract: A method to control the velocity of a treadmill according to the walking velocity of the person that is using the treadmill. A reaction force is measured, which occurs when a longitudinal repulsion force is created between the treadmill (2) and the person (1). A signal representation for said reaction force is transmitted to a control unit. The control unit is used to control the velocity of the treadmill.

  • Patent number: 6367789
Abstract: A clutch and a workpiece support incorporating the same selectively restrict rotation of a rotatable member through the use of one or more rollers that are pinched between the outer surface of the rotatable member and corresponding convergent surfaces disposed on a housing opposing such outer surface. In effect, each roller is interposed between a surface on a fixed housing and an outer surface of a rotatable member such that rotation of the rotatable member rolls the roller toward a converging gap to restrict further rotation of the rotatable member. A biasing mechanism biases the roller toward the converging gap, and a release mechanism is utilized to quickly and efficiently decouple the roller from the rotatable member by biasing the roller in a direction away from the converging gap and thereby preventing the roller from inhibiting rotation of the rotatable member.
