The sensor device includes a first wireless communication interface for connection to a second wireless communication interface on a movable object, in particular a vehicle. The sensor device performs: operating the sensor device in a first state in which only non-sensitive data can be transmitted to the second wireless communication interface; sending a connection signal to the second wireless communication interface when the sensor device is operated in a first state and is moved at a predetermined speed and/or a predetermined rotation rate; establishing a secure connection to the moving object using the second wireless communication interface; transmitting sensitive data using the secure connection, and storing the sensitive data; transferring the sensor device to a second state in which only non-sensitive data can be transmitted; changing the state of the sensor device to the first state when a predefinable reset event occurs.
