    Abstract: A method and device for building an oligonucleotide on a solid phase resin within a filter reactor, wherein the method and device as used as a solid phase synthesis system. As part of the solid phase synthesis process, a protecting group will be removed from the 5? position of an oligonucleotide that is attached to the solid phase resin and then an activated amidite (phosphoamidite) solution is added. The activated amidite solution flows up and down, or fluidizes and mixes with the resin beads within the bed reactor and reacts at the 5? position of the oligonucleotide, wherein the phosphorous linkage found within the amidite comprises a P atom that is in an oxidation state of III. Once the activated amidite solution has been reacted, the P atom is converted from an oxidation state of III to an oxidation state of V. Any of the reactions including deblocking, coupling, oxidation, sulfurization, or capping can be fluidized or mixed to get complete contacting between the reagents and the resin.

Crude oil and wash water are mixed by a pressure drop across a mix valve, thereby forming a crude oil/water phase stream. The crude oil/water phase stream is supplied into a desalter vessel, whereupon an emulsion forms at an interface between the crude oil and the water phase. The crude oil/water phase stream is contacted with a dosage of an emulsion breaker in an applied electric field. At least one property associated with the emulsion is measured using an emulsion level indicator. A total chlorine and a water percentage of the crude oil are measured. At least one of the pressure drop and the dosage of the emulsion breaker is adjusted substantially in real time in response to at least one of the measured properties, total chlorine, and water percentage.

Two sets of date fields may be provided, an effective from/effective to set for dimensions with effective date logic; and an effective start date/effective end date for all dimensions. A current indicator is used to indicate a currently valid dimension. By processing and setting the date fields, both Type 1 and Type 2 dimensions can be processed and queried similarly. This enables generating an accurate and consistent report of information representing information in a data warehouse as it is now, or as it was at any point in time. The methods also enable for reporting and analysis of historical and trends, as well as future forecasting.

    Abstract: A fall arresting ladder safety device for attachment to a fixed ladder side rail. The fall arresting device is to be used in conjunction with a body harness worn by the climber with a lanyard attached at one end to the body harness and the other end attached to the fall arresting device. The fall arresting device includes first and second arms pivotally connected in an X-configuration with each arm having first and second ladder side rail engaging portions disposed on opposite edges of the ladder side rail. A spring operably attached to the first and second arms biases the first and second arms between a fall arresting position and a climbing position. To ascend or descend the ladder, the handle portion of the first arm is pivoted upward to disengage the ladder side rail engaging portions of the first arm so that the device can be rolled up or down the ladder side rail as the climber ascends or descends the ladder.
