  • Patent number: 7088064
Abstract: A method for the orientation of a spindle of a numerically controlled and rapidly rotating spindle by which the spindle is brought from an initial rotational speed into a predetermined position of rest. The method includes performing a first phase of orientation of the spindle by braking the spindle to a threshold rotational speed, wherein during the braking a switching over to a position controller is prepared, the switching over is performed at a switching time during a transition from the first phase of orientation to a second phase of orientation, the switching over is continuous in regard to position and/or rotational speed, and wherein a rotational speed of the spindle drops strictly monotonically.

    Assignee: Dr. Johannes Heidenhain GmbH
    Inventors: Michael Brakelmann, Matthias Fauser
  • Publication number: 20050071802
Abstract: In a numerical control with a machine-tool simulator, a special device is provided for the exchange of information between the numerical control or an allocated PLC and the machine-tool simulator. This device includes a jointly utilized memory, via which information is able to be exchanged between the numerical control and the machine-tool simulator, the jointly utilized memory being writeable and readable both by the numerical control and by the machine-tool simulator.

  • Patent number: 6249102
Abstract: A method for the control of a multi-axis machine tool, in particular for the regulation of the position of the individual axes as a function of at least one other axis or external parameters. The method includes providing a coupling function for each axis so that the coupling function can be programmed by the operator of the machine tool and activating the coupling function only after all axes involved in the coupling have been referenced.
