  • Publication number: 20120309440
Abstract: Generic devices, systems and methods for multiple radio access technologies (RATs) are described. An arrangement can include, for example, a multiple radio access technology (RAT) platform configured to enable communications with a plurality of different RATs using procedures associated with transceiver processing functions, wherein the procedures implement the transceiver processing functions through functional units (FUs) which perform operations, the FUs being implemented in at least one of hardware and software; and wherein the FUs are configured by functional unit descriptors (FUDs) which instruct an FU regarding at least one of: (a) from which memory location to fetch data to operate upon or parameters associated with an operation to be performed by the FU, (b) to which memory location to store data as a result of an operation and (c) a message type to output after the operation.

  • Publication number: 20120307657
Abstract: Generic devices, systems and methods for multiple radio access technologies (RATs) are described. Arrangements can include, for example, a processor configured to execute procedures associated with different radio access technologies (RATs), a radio planner function configured to receive requests for radio resources from the procedures and further configured to selectively grant or deny radio access by the procedures in response to the requests, and a memory device configured to operate as a distributed data base to store data produced by at least one of the procedures and to provide the data to at least one other of the procedures.

  • Patent number: 6732302
Abstract: Data is multiplexed in a frame having a fixed bit length in a telecommunication system. The data is transmitted by transmitting a first transport channel comprising a first number of bits; transmitting first error detection bits associated with the first transport channel and comprising a second number of bits; transmitting a second transport channel comprising a third number of bits; transmitting a third transport channel comprising a fourth number of bits; and selectively transmitting a control channel comprising a fifth number of bits. The control channel is transmitted after the first error detection bits and before transmission of the third transport channel. Whenever the control channel is transmitted as part of the frame, a sum of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth number of bits equals the fixed bit length, but whenever the control channel is not transmitted as part of the frame, a sum of the first, second, third and fourth number of bits equals the fixed bit length.

  • Publication number: 20040058650
Abstract: A mobile terminal includes a wireless receiver, a buffer, and a controller. The wireless receiver is configured to receive information from a plurality of cells. The buffer is configured to record the information. The controller is configured to search the information for a first synchronization code from at least one of the plurality of cells, and to search for a second synchronization code from at least one of the plurality of cells using the information that was recorded in the buffer and used to search for the first synchronization code.

  • Publication number: 20010040933
Abstract: A signal filter comprises a plurality of adding elements (21), each of which has first and second inputs and an output and is operable to provide an output signal representative of the sum of a pair of input signals. The filter also includes a plurality of delay line elements (22), each delay line element having an input and an output and being operable to delay transfer of an input signal from the input to the output by a predetermined time period. The adding elements (21) and delay line elements (22) are connected in a series such that the output of each adding elements, except the last adding element in the series, is connected to the first input of the next adding element in the series via an associated delay line element, the output of the last adding element in the series being connected to the first input of the first adding element in the series via a delay line element. The second input of the adding elements are connected to receive respective input signals.
