  • Publication number: 20090097450
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system and method for enhanced voice call continuity. A method includes receiving a request to handover a call session from a radio access network to an IP-CAN. The method further includes handing over the call session to the IP-CAN independent of an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 21, 2008
    Publication date: April 16, 2009
Applicant: MAVENIR SYSTEMS, INC., A CORPORATION OF TEXAS
Inventors: Michael Brett Wallis, Zeev V. Lubenski
  • Publication number: 20080293433
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system and method for discovering network elements. In some implementations, a method includes identifying information indicating a location of a femtocell device. A communication node associated with the femtocell device is identified. A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message including the location information is transmitted to the identified communication node. A response is received requesting that the femtocell device register with a different communication node associated with a cellular core network at least proximate the location.

  • Publication number: 20080293382
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a method and system for authenticating femtocell-connected mobile devices. In some implementations, a method includes receiving information associated with an authentication request transmitted by a cellular core network. The information is internetworked between a cellular radio technology and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for authenticating a cellular device in a femtocell.

  • Publication number: 20080293418
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system and method for managing handovers between network devices. In some implementations, a method includes receiving a request to handover a call session from a femtocell to a macrocell associated with a cellular core network. The femtocell comprise cellular radio technology. A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message is generated based, at least in part, on the handover request. The SIP message is transmitted to a communication node associated with the cellular core network.
