  • Patent number: 11020944
Abstract: A first multilayer shrink film has an outer polyester layer, an inner O2-barrier layer, and a tie layer between the polyester layer and the barrier layer. A second multilayer film an outer polyester layer, an inner polyamide layer, and a tie layer between the polyester and polyamide layers. The tie layer comprises a styrene-based polymer, and the tie layer in the second film comprises an anhydride functional styrene based copolymer. Included are a packaging article comprising the film, a packaging process utilizing the film, a process for making the film, and a packaged product comprising a packaging article made the film, with a product inside the package.

  • Patent number: 7517569
Abstract: A film comprises a barrier layer including PVdC or EVOH, a skin layer, and an intermediate layer comprising at least about 50% of propylene/ethylene copolymer. The film has at least about 10% free shrink in at least one direction at 85° C. The film is useful in making barrier shrink bags.

  • Publication number: 20060286321
Abstract: Heat shrinkable films having at least one layer comprising a blend of a first ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer having a Mw/Mn of from about 1 to 3.0 and a second ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer having an Mw/Mn greater than 3.0. The first ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer has a density of from about 0.91 g/cc to about 0.925 g/cc, a first melting point of from about 85° C. to about 110° C., and a second melting point of from about 111° C. to about 125° C. The second ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer has a density of from about 0.90 to about 0.91 g/cc. The first ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer makes up from about 5 to about 40 weight percent of the blend. The second ethylene/alpha-olefin makes up from about 60 to about 95 weight percent of the blend. The blend makes up from about 40 to 100 weight percent of the total weight of the film. The film has a total free shrink at 85° C. of at least 60 percent and a peak load impact strength of at least 135 Newtons per mil.
