  • Patent number: 11969218
Abstract: A system and method provide feedback to guide a user to arrange components of a surgical robotic system in a suitable arrangement for the surgical procedure to be performed. An image of a medical procedure site at which a robotic manipulator and a second object such as a second robotic manipulator, patient table, patient, and bedside staff are located. The image is displayed for a user. The system uses computer vision to recognize the robotic manipulator and second object in the image and determine their relative positions. Based on the type of surgical procedure that is to be performed, the system determines a target position for the robotic manipulator and/or the second object, and displays, as an overlay to the displayed image, a graphical indication of the target position.

  • Publication number: 20220068506
Abstract: A telecollaboration system for use during surgery allows initiation of a video conference session between participants, the participants comprising an on-site user in a surgical operating room, and a remote user not in the surgical operating room. Real time images of patient anatomy during a surgical procedure are captured using an endoscope positioned a patient's body cavity and displayed in real-time to the video conference participants. Real time images of the on-site user and the surgical environment external to the patient are also displayed. Input from remote and/or on site participants is used to generate annotations for display to all participants as overlays on the endoscope images and/or the images of the surgical environment. A user interface allows remote and/or on-site participants to re-orient the external cameras to change the view of the surgeon and/or surgical environment displayed to the participants.

  • Patent number: 8561226
Abstract: An MRI transfer table is provided for transporting a patient and transferring a patient to an MRI table associated with an MRI apparatus. The MRI transfer table includes a mobile frame, a patient support and a series of connectors for detachably connecting the patient support to the mobile frame. In use, the MRI transfer table is aligned with the MRI apparatus and the MRI table is projected underneath the patient support of the MRI transfer table. The patient support is disconnected from the mobile frame and allowed to rest on the MRI table. Thereafter the mobile frame is moved from the MRI apparatus and the MRI table with the patient support thereon retracted into the MRI apparatus.
