    Abstract: A seal of an elastomeric material used to mount an intake manifold in a gas-tight manner on the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The seal is formed to blend together in one piece and is located in position on the side of the intake-manifold flange facing the cylinder head. The seal has sealing surfaces, which sealingly surround the periphery of the intake pipes of the intake manifold during normal operational use. The sealing surfaces are interconnected by web segments, and at least one of the web segments is designed in one area of its extent to act as a linear tolerance compensation segment, to be flexurally soft and/or capable of folding together.

    Abstract: A core ring assembly for use in production of a plastic injection-molded component is formed by injecting molten metal alloy into core dies to produce two intricately shaped ring type elements--one male, one female. Removing the male and female ring elements from the core dies and combining the two elements in an assembly machine to form a uniform, geometrically symmetrical, integral core ring assembly. The core ring assembly is transported to a plastic molding machine for overmolding the core ring assembly with either thermosetting or thermoplastic material. Then, the core assembly is melted out from the plastic component in a hot oil bath or induction melt-out, and the molten alloy recovered thereby is returned to a molten metal alloy tank for reuse.

    Abstract: A fuel distributor for a multi-cylinder combustion engine with fuel-injection system, comprising a fuel flow divider having a tubular distributor housing and at least one fuel feed connection as well as at least one fuel return connection. The fuel flow divider has a number of first receiving holes which corresponds to the number of injection valves, and a second receiving hole arranged in the region of an end limitation of the distributor housing. In order to supply fuel to an internal combustion engine having at least two rows of cylinders, one fuel flow divider is used for each row of cylinders, the fuel flow dividers being developed in corresponding manner and being connected to each other in fuel-conducting manner by a connecting line and arranged in series. A pressure regulating valve is arranged in said second receiving hole of one of the two fuel flow dividers and a pressure test connection is arranged in said second receiving hole of the other fuel flow divider.

    Abstract: A method for closing a non-circular opening in a plastic intake pipe of an internal combustion engine with a cover having a shape adapted to that of the opening includes the step of introducing the cover through the opening from outside the pipe by tilting the cover relative to the opening. The cover is then tilted within the plastic intake pipe to such an extent that the cover completely covers both the opening from the inside in a form-locking manner and an edge region of the plastic intake pipe which surrounds the opening.

    Abstract: A coupling comprising a first machine element having a recess, a second machine element which can be inserted into the recess and an elastic, U-shaped bracket, adjacent positioning devices being associated with the first and the second machine elements and the bracket having a direction of movement which extends transverse to the direction of coupling and being able to be brought into engagement with the positioning devices. The first machine element has in the region of its positioning devices in the direction of movement of the bracket at least two detents located one behind the other which are arranged in the direction of movement in front of and behind the recess for the second machine element. The bracket is provided in the direction of movement at least at its front end with a lock device which can be brought into engagement with the detents of the first machine element. The bracket can in retracted condition be brought into engagement with the first detent and is then arranged outside the recess.
