  • Publication number: 20040055240
Abstract: A fastener-free composite roofing product comprising a roofing material and an interply material attached to the roofing material, wherein the interply material includes an adhesive coating on one side. The interply material is attached adjacent to an edge of the roofing material to permit a major portion of the interply material to be folded away from the roofing material for application to a roof. The adhesive is effective to secure the roofing product to the roof without the use of nails or other fasteners. The roofing material may be a roofing shingle or roll roofing, and the interply material is comprised of a water resistant material.

  • Patent number: 6708456
Abstract: A roofing composite comprising a roofing material and an interply material attached to the roofing material. The interply material is attached adjacent to an edge of the roofing material and is scored to permit a major portion of the interply material to be folded away from the roofing material for application to a roof. The roofing material may be a roofing shingle or roll roofing and the interply material is comprised of a water resistant material.

  • Publication number: 20040028239
Abstract: A microphone assembly for a vehicle accessory includes one or more transducers positioned in a microphone housing. The microphone housing has at least one acoustic port to which the transducer is acoustically coupled. The microphone assembly further includes a windscreen sealed across the acoustic port. The windscreen having hydrophobic properties to prevent water from penetrating the microphone housing through the acoustic port.

  • Patent number: 6614911
Abstract: A microphone assembly includes one or more transducers positioned in a housing. Circuitry is coupled to the transducer for outputting an electrical signal such that the microphone has a main lobe directed forwardly and attenuates signals originating from the sides and/or rear. The transducers can advantageously include multiple transducers, which, with the circuit, produce a desired sensitivity pattern. The microphone assembly can be employed in a vehicle accessory.

  • Publication number: 20030040241
Abstract: A roofing system having a multiplicity of courses of roofing shingles and interply material comprising at least one course of interply material overlapping at least about ten percent of a first course of shingles and a second course of shingles overlapping at least a portion of the interply material and the first course of shingles. More than about 40% of the first course of shingles is exposed after installation. The roofing system has a class A fire resistant rating. Roofing shingles having particular utility in the roofing system of the present invention are also disclosed. In preferred embodiments the shingles have an exposure width of at least about 60% of the shingle, more preferably at least about 64% of the width of the shingle.

  • Publication number: 20020110256
Abstract: A microphone assembly includes one or more transducers positioned in one or more housings. A processing circuit is coupled to the transducer for outputting an electrical signal such that the microphone in combination with the processing circuit very effectively cancels noise. The microphone assembly can be employed in a vehicle accessory.

  • Patent number: 4685137
Abstract: A microphone having unique polar response characteristics has a virtual axis of maximum pickup sensitivity which is angularly displaced from its physical horizontal longitudinal axis. Forward and rearward movement of a diaphragm is sensed by a sensing element mounted in spaced relationship to a rear side of the diaphragm. A substantially enclosed cavity is formed between the diaphragm rear side and the sensing element, with a non-symmetrical arrangement of at least one aperture for permitting sound pressure waves to enter said cavity, so that the polar response curve of the microphone in a horizontal plane is angularly displaced about a line perpendicular to the microphone's horizontal longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4646873
Abstract: An acoustic equalizer adapted for use with a microphone includes a resonator plate having front and back faces, a lip surrounding the plate and defining a first air cavity in the back face of the plate, and a plurality of apertures formed through the thickness of the plate, which apertures communicate with the first cavity. A boss is formed centrally on the front face of the plate. The boss is closed ended on one side and hollow interiorly to define a second air cavity. The first and second cavities communicate with each other through a central opening formed in the plate.
