  • Publication number: 20040010902
Abstract: A removable barrier, which can be used as a temporary safety barrier, comprises a material having a predetermined perimeter and a tensioner which is disposed about the perimeter of the material to removably secure the flexible material proximate an opening in a desired surface. Color, lettering, and/or logos or combinations thereof may be provided on one or more facings of the material. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope of meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20040014582
Abstract: This invention relates to glass-ceramic materials in the BaO—La2O3—SiO2 system, which are suitable for processing via a powder route, and which, after heat-treatment have a combination of high thermal expansion and excellent refractoriness. The precursor glass powders of the present invention have compositions on a weight percent basis of 10-55% BaO, 3-50% La2O3, 25-48% SiO2 and optionally up to 30% in total of other compatible metal oxides. The powders are substantially free from alkali metal oxides and from boron oxide such that the refractoriness of the glass-ceramic materials is not compromised. The materials may be advantageously employed at high temperatures in direct combination with other materials of high expansion or may be used to join or hermetically seal components made of other materials having similarly high expansion.

  • Patent number: 6475938
Abstract: The present invention relates to glass ceramic material and its use as means for joining different types of material and as support. Said glass ceramic material comprising, on a weight percent basis, 10-35% MgO, 10-55% BaO and 25-50% SiO2 and is formed by the following steps: a) melting of glass raw material at a temperature in excess of 1450 ° C. and that the thereby formed melt is cooled rapidly to a temperature below 900° C. and thereafter to ambient temperature to form a precursor glass, b) milling of the precursor glass into a sinterable glass powder with an average particle size in the range of 1 micron to 100 microns, c) forming of the glass powder into a green body of suitable shape, with or without organic processing aids, and subjecting said green body to a thermal treatment comprising a heating stage of average heating rate not exceeding 100 ° C./minute between the temperatures of 750 ° C. and 900 ° C.

  • Patent number: 5780091
Abstract: A spiral wound instant pasta solid sauce composite noodle is disclosed which employs selected dusting agents and solid sauce interleaved within the spiral to insure unrolling of the spiral upon subsequent boiling. A method for the preparation of the sauce and the noodle is also disclosed along with a system for packing the noodles in flexible envelopes to reduce breakage of the noodles and to permit inclusion of noodles longer than the flexible package filling aperture and reducing the incidence of perforation of the package.

  • Patent number: 4018482
Abstract: A rim for a wheel and brake assembly having a lug on the radially inner surface integral with the rim and positioned for torque transmission between axially slidable brake members and the rim. The lug has an inner face spaced from the radially inner surface of the rim and is recessed at a position along the lug with the thickness of the lug at the recess being less than at other positions along the lug to reduce the stresses in the lug and rim.
