  • Patent number: 4910005
Abstract: A process for the reduction of nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gases comprising reacting the gases with a reducing agent in the presence of a catalyst, the catalyst being based on carbon and having a carbon content greater than 65% by weight and containing 0.1 to 10% by weight of a sparingly soluble oxide of one or more metal selected from the group consisting of Co, Fe, Ni, Cr, V, Mo, W, Cu, Mn and Ti and having a nitrogen content of from 0.5 to 5% by weight, wherein the molar ratio of the reducing agent to the nitrogen oxide is 0.3 to 0.7.

  • Patent number: 4622195
Abstract: Polyacrylonitrile filaments and fibers may be obtained without interruption by spinning the spinning solution into a hot-air spinning duct, washing, drawing, crimping, preparing, steaming, drying cooling and, optionally, cutting at a take-off rate kept at 150 to 400 m/minute and for a tow weight of from 10 to 100 g/m when(a) the washing process is carried out in several stages on the countercurrent principle and a vibrating duct is used for transporting the spun tow through the washing process,(b) drawing is carried out before and/or after washing in a steam atmosphere at 100.degree. to 120.degree. C.,(c) crimping is carried out in an aerodynamic crimping unit using a hot, gaseous medium under a pressure of from 5 to 16 bars and at a temperature in the range from 50.degree. to 210.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4387476
Abstract: In the process of washing synthetic fibers directly subsequent to the spinning process in which the tow is deposited in a folded condition onto a transportation device, the solvent is removed as completely as possible with the use of as little fresh water as possible if the washing process is carried out on the folded tow in counterflow on this transporting device.

  • Patent number: 4103480
Abstract: The invention is related to a method for producing texturized yarns from polyamide 6 which have small parts of a transitional structure in the .alpha.-modification in addition to the predominant .alpha.-modification, using a rapidly spun yarn in the .alpha.-modification, wherein a yarn with an elongation of 40 to 100% and a density of 1.130 to 1.140 is texturized at texturizing speeds of from 4000 to 1600 m/min at a temperature of from 170.degree. to 220.degree. C while maintaining a constant thread tension ratio of twister outlet to twister inlet of from 1 : 1.0 to 1 : 1.5 by means of a frictional twister while simultaneously stretching in a ratio of from 1 : 1.05 to 1 : 1.5.

  • Patent number: 4098115
Abstract: Yarn tension measuring device for the measurement of small yarn tensions at high yarn speed consisting of a measuring head with three guide elements comprising air cushioned runners and having very low moments of inertia, which does not at all or only very slightly alter the yarn tension.

  • Patent number: 4070817
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the simultaneous drawing and texturing of synthetic yarns by the false-twist method comprising interlacing the unstretched or partially stretched yarn by means of an interlacing device before entering the texturing zone of the texturing machine.

  • Patent number: 4034548
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the simultaneous stretch-texturing of synthetic, at least partly thermoplastic filaments or yarns using false twisters, more especially friction false twisters wherein the ratio S.sub.2 /S.sub.1 between the tractive or tensile forces S.sub.1, acting on the filament before the false twister, and S.sub.2, acting on the filament after the false twister, is adjusted to from 1.0 to 1.4 by adapting the ratio between the rotational speed of the false twister and the rate of travel of the filament or yarn, and the denier-related twisting of the yarn is from 5 to 50% higher than the level of twisting which is normally applied in conventional false-twist texturing processes using a spindle and which can be calculated on the basis of the Heberlein formula. Moreover, the invention relates to a yarn produced by the afore-described process.
