  • Publication number: 20240144835
Abstract: Systems and methods for radar-based aircraft maneuver actions are provided. An example computer-implemented method includes transmitting, using one or more transmitters onboard an aircraft, one or more radio signals. Reflected radio data corresponding to one or more radio signals reflected from a plurality of radio detection and ranging (“radar”) reflectors placed at a plurality of locations associated with an aerial facility can be received using one or more radio receivers onboard the aircraft. A location for the aircraft can be computed based on the radio data and the plurality of locations associated with the aerial facility at which the radar reflectors are placed. A maneuver action for the aircraft can be initiated at a particular landing pad of the aerial facility based on the location.

  • Patent number: 11747830
Abstract: A system and method that function to generate an updated vehicle state based on a previous vehicle state and a set of sensor measurements. The previous vehicle state can be selected from a set of redundant prior vehicle state candidates. The system and method can optionally detect and correct for sensor measurement faults or failures, prior to updating the vehicle state.

  • Publication number: 20230004174
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling aerial vehicles are provided. An aerial vehicle includes a single circuit board with a number of processor devices and a memory including instructions to perform autonomy operations. The autonomy operations include obtaining GNSS data from GNSS assemblies electrically connected to the processor devices, APNT data from APNT assemblies electrically connected to the processor devices, and radar data from the radar assemblies electrically connected to the processor devices. Each of the assemblies are disposed on the same circuit board that includes the number of processor devices. The processor devices determine a vehicle location based on the GNSS data, the APNT data, and the radar data, identify airborne objects based on the radar data, generate a motion plan based on the vehicle location and the identified objects, and initiate a motion of the aerial vehicle based on the vehicle location.

  • Publication number: 20220066015
Abstract: A method for determining a position of a vehicle is provided. First and second signals having first and second frequencies are transmitted towards a target. First and second reflected signals corresponding to the first and second signals reflected from the target are received at first and second antennae, respectively. A first frequency difference between the first signal and the first reflected signal is determined. The first frequency difference corresponds to a first range between the vehicle and target. A second frequency difference between the second pulsed signal and the second reflected signal is determined. The second frequency difference corresponds to a second range between the vehicle and target. A vehicle velocity is based on the first range and the second range. A position of the vehicle is determined based on the velocity.
