  • Publication number: 20170374568
Abstract: Systems, Devices, and Methods are disclosed for modifying access list for a cellular phone operating remotely on cellular network. In some embodiments, the cellular device will send signal environment information to a server device identifying characteristic about the networks on which it is operating. The server device performs optimizations on aggregated data to determine an updated access list, which is subsequently sent to the cellular device for application. Over time, the efficacy of the aggregated data improves as additional cellular devices report signal environment information and the performance of updated access list is quantified. In some embodiments, the access list is wrapped in an access policy, which may include application rules enabling to cellular device to determine, based on context, at time at which the updated access list should be applied. In some embodiments, the cellular device sends notification to the server device when an updated access list is applied.

  • Patent number: 5802184
Abstract: Vibrational energy in a first frequency range within a vehicle or the like is controlled by an active vibration control system which includes a sensor, controller, driver, actuator and actuator power dissipation reduction circuit. The controller provides a control signal to a Class-D power amplifier operating at a second higher frequency to generate an output signal to the actuator in the frequency range of the noise/vibration to be controlled resulting in a force output from the actuator controlling vibration and/or noise in a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The actuator power dissipation reduction circuit reduces high frequency energy transients with in-series inductors to prevent heat inducing eddy currents in the actuator without additional current flow in the power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5619581
Abstract: An active noise and vibration control system (20) for cancellation of noise or vibration. The system (20) provides a system whereby the adaptation path and feedforward path are implemented in separate hardware. As a result, the computational burden on the digital signal processor (DSP) (28) is reduced allowing the DSP (28) to handle multiple inputs (22), error sensors (34), and transducers (32). In one embodiment, the processing of the input signal from sensor (22) takes place in a waveform generator (24) comprising a phase-locked loop, a frequency divider, a shift register, and at least one switched capacitor filter. In another embodiment the input signal processing takes place in separate feedforward circuitry including a field programmable gate array (64).

  • Patent number: 5570286
Abstract: A non-active regenerative system (20) which regenerates energy by taking energy from relative motion of members (22) and (24) and using it later to accomplish overall improved performance and eliminates the need for an active source to provide assisting forces. The non-active regenerative system (20) includes an energy transformer element (26) interconnecting a first member (22) and second member (24) which converts relative motion to an energy in storable form, and an energy management element (30) which channels the flow of energy to and from an energy storage element (32) to produce assisting forces. The energy management element (30)is commanded by a controller (36) which is responsive sensors (34a, 34b, 34c, and 34d) which provide signals indicative of the system condition. Power is supplied to the energy management (30), sensors (34a, 34b, 34c, and 34d), and controller (36), only if required, by power source (40). However, no active power source is needed to drive the transformer element (26).

  • Patent number: 5487027
Abstract: A waveform generator (20) for generating an analog wave which is synchronized with a signal from an input source (22). The waveform generator (20) includes a phase-locked loop (24) for receiving an input source signal and multiplying said signal by a multiplier. The multiplied square wave signal is then provided to a frequency divider (28) and to a first clock input (39) of a first switched-capacitor filter (29). The frequency divider (28) outputs a divided output signal that is received as an input to the phase-locked loop (25) and by the first switched-capacitor filter (35). As a result, the first switched-capacitor filter (29) outputs a first analog wave of a constant amplitude which is phase synchronized with the input source signal. This waveform generator (20) allows the 3 dB point of the filter to move as the input frequency changes.

  • Patent number: 5439587
Abstract: A self-priming filter holder for filtration of intravenous liquids is provided and is formed of one or two housing portions sealed to a core portion. The core portion has one or two ribbed surfaces forming a plurality of flow paths sealed at one end and open at a second end and at least one channel preferably larger than the flow paths. The channel(s) is in fluid communication with the flow paths and an outlet. An inlet is provided to the interior of the housing portion(s) which are sealed from the ribbed surfaces by hydrophilic membranes. The housing portion(s) can be provided with gas vents sealed with hydrophobic membranes. Fluids pass through the flow paths in one direction and through the channel(s) in an opposite direction to remove gas from the flow paths and channels prior to use.

  • Patent number: 5323133
Abstract: A device for making electrical connection to a reciprocating element, such as to a voice coil of an actuator. An electrical flow path utilizing the helical centering springs as a primary element in conducting current ensures reliable current flow to a reciprocating element and avoids high-speed flexing of brittle wires. Hard-wired connections are utilized only between stationary elements. A second double-coil actuator embodiment employs a coaxial, substantially co-extensive pair of springs as the input and return current flow paths for each actuator.

  • Patent number: 4590618
Abstract: An RF receiver having a coupling capacitor connected between the back end of the receiver and the input to a data limiter circuit, a battery saver strobe feature which periodically turns the receiver ON and OFF and a precharge circuit for precharging the coupling capacitor. The receiver further includes a reference voltage stabilization circuit which prevents a received signal from reaching the output of the back end of the receiver during the precharging of the coupling capacitor in order to minimize the voltage offsets from the desired unmodulated carrier frequency reference voltage which results in erroneous data being decoded by the decoder portion of the RF receiver.
