  • Publication number: 20240134969
Abstract: Additive manufacturing's reliance on embedded computing renders it vulnerable to tampering through cyber-attacks. Sensor instrumentation of additive manufacturing devices allows for rigorous process and security monitoring, but also results in a massive volume of noisy data for each run. As such, in-situ, near-real-time anomaly detection is challenging. A probabilistic-model-based approach addresses this challenge.

  • Patent number: 11919771
Abstract: High quality, catalyst-free boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) that are long, flexible, have few wall molecules and few defects in the crystalline structure, can be efficiently produced by a process driven primarily by Direct Induction. Secondary Direct Induction coils, Direct Current heaters, lasers, and electric arcs can provide additional heating to tailor the processes and enhance the quality of the BNNTs while reducing impurities. Heating the initial boron feed stock to temperatures causing it to act as an electrical conductor can be achieved by including refractory metals in the initial boron feed stock, and providing additional heat via lasers or electric arcs. Direct Induction processes may be energy efficient and sustainable for indefinite period of time. Careful heat and gas flow profile management may be used to enhance production of high quality BNNT at significant production rates.

  • Patent number: 11165230
Abstract: A roller assembly for facilitating the drawing of a cable along a cable tray having a transversely-extending strut includes one roller having a rotation axis and an elongated attachment portion having a cross-sectional shape which is substantially U-shaped in form. The attachment portion is positionable about the transversely-extending strut of the cable tray by directing the opening of the U of the cross-sectional shape of the attachment portion over the strut. A fastener is used to bind the attachment portion to the strut. A second roller can mounted upon the attachment portion for rotation about an axis which is substantially normal to the rotation axis of the one roller for use at a corner or curve of the tray, and the componentry of the assembly facilitates the construction of a roller-bearing apparatus providing a multi-sided passageway through which a cable can be drawn.

  • Patent number: 11034372
Abstract: A material cart includes an elongated framed structure having two ends and two sides and utilizes an elevated top assembly with which the framed structure can be suspended from the forks, or a fork, of a forklift truck. The top assembly includes a pair of fork-accepting mounts wherein each mount includes a body of substantially U-shaped cross section having two leg sections and a top section joining the two leg sections. The two leg sections of each mount are joined to the elongated frame so that a first fork-accepting opening is provided by the mount and is adapted to accept a fork of a forklift truck directed therein from a side of the framed structure. The leg sections of each mount define a pair of aligned cutouts which provide a second fork-accepting opening of the mount for accepting a fork of a forklift truck directed therein from an end of the framed structure.

  • Patent number: 11008194
Abstract: A portable rack for holding windable material, such as cable or wire, includes two elongated leg sections which are joined together at the upper ends thereof for pivotal movement between a folded condition at which the lower ends of the leg sections are disposed adjacent one another and an unfolded condition at which the lower ends of the leg sections are in a spaced-apart relationship. A two-ended rod is attachable to one leg section so that each of the two ends of the rod is capable of supporting a coil of windable material directed thereover. In addition, a plate member is secured to one of the leg sections adjacent the upper end thereof and defines an abutment edge for limiting the movement of the lower ends of the leg sections further apart during an unfolding operation to a distance as measured between the lower ends of the leg sections when in the unfolded condition.
