  • Patent number: 11916613
Abstract: The present technology provides solutions that enable accurate measuring of frequency response on a network (e.g., cable network, fiber optic network) through frequency sweep testing. In various embodiments, the present technology provides a remote transmitter test unit that can be physically deployed at various points in a network. The present technology provides for on demand sweep testing. A remote transmitter test unit or headend test unit can periodically transmit a query message and, based on a response to the query message, can initiate a sweep test. The present technology provides for automatic generation of a sweep profile for a sweep test. Based on an analysis of a frequency spectrum on a network, the sweep profile provides parameters for conducting a sweep test. The present technology provides for Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) table generation and OFDM sweep testing.

  • Patent number: 6430281
Abstract: Automated call booking, call reconnection and diary booking services are described with reference to an intelligent network. The network comprising service switching points (SSP) and a service control point (SCP) includes a number of intelligent peripherals (IP) arranged to provide services to users. On receipt of an access code from a telephone line, the SSP refers the request to the SCP which directs connection of IPs to obtain instructions from the user. In one case, the user can pre-book an automated telephone conference call at specified date and time (or at regularly recurring intervals). An alternative service enables a user to request reconnection of a call currently in progress at a specified later time or after a predetermined period. A voice record and replay facility enable useful alarm call information to be stored.

  • Patent number: 6332019
Abstract: A telecommunications network stores data including geographical locations, network types and the like associated with calling codes. If, for example, a customer wants to identify to where a dialed call relates, a service access code may be dialed and a series of voice prompts encourages entry of digits identifying areas. Voice announcement peripherals are used to provide decoding of data to area name and, if further detail is available, to provide a more specific geographic location (e.g., a town name).
