Users may be automatically charged via user billing accounts with the wireless network carrier to which the users subscribe. The application provider need not have contractual agreements with any of the wireless network carriers, as billing is automatically performed by the platform through the wireless network carriers. According to one aspect, an application pod is provided, with which a user can rate and tag content. In this way, other people who are looking for a song will be able to find songs that have been highly rated by the community. According to another aspect, a method is provided for predicatively selecting content to suggest to a user.

In an embodiment, users are automatically charged via the user's billing account with the wireless network carrier to which the user subscribes. The platform may also use billing mechanisms, such as credit cards, bank accounts, prepaid cards, web-based payment services, etc. The application provider need not have contractual agreements with any of the wireless network carriers. In an additional aspect, an application provider may undergo authentication before uploading any media, content or application to the platform. During authentication, a unique identification code may be generated and stored for the application provider. Any media, content, or application subsequently uploaded by the authenticated application provider is associated with the unique identification code.

    Abstract: A method for allowing a third-party application developer to utilize a subscriber for sending invitations to utilize a software application associated with the software developer, is disclosed. In accordance with this method, the third party application developer creates a software application. The software application is modified to include a communication synchronization application programming interface (API) script. The modified software application is registered to a network community platform. The subscriber accessed the modified software application from the network community platform. The subscriber then sends an instruction authorizing access to an address book associated with the subscriber. A plurality of addresses from the address book are extracted. An invitation to use the modified software application is sent to at least one of the plurality of addresses extracted from the address book.
