  • Publication number: 20190350750
Abstract: A dry eye treatment device and method of use are disclosed for applying heat to the exterior surface of an eyelid to treat dry eye symptoms which can be caused by meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). More specifically, a user operable main unit and hand piece are provided that allow the user to heat his/her or another patient's eyelids to a desired temperature, which can effectively and efficiently raise the temperature at the meibomian glands sufficient to melt, loosen, or soften more serious occlusions or obstructions in the meibomian glands, thereby restoring natural secretory function to obstructed glands.

  • Publication number: 20190357079
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for extending the communication range of mobile communication devices. A long-range radio device is controlled by a control application on a host smartphone. The long-range radio device provides signal paths for two different radios, one employing a long-range (LoRa) modulation format, and another employing a high data-rate encoding such as FSK. The system provides graceful degradation in data rate as radio link distance increases and received signal strength decreases. In addition to switching between radios, variable compression and buffering are used to adapt usage to supportable data rates. Voice, other audio, video, text, binary, and other data formats are supported, as also a wide range of co-resident host apps. Unidirectional and bidirectional links can be used.

  • Patent number: 10481253
Abstract: A monopulse tracker includes multiple dual-axis monopulse antenna systems that are angled with respect to one another. The orientations of the monopulse antenna systems create a much larger field of view for the monopulse tracker to eliminate the need to steer the monopulse tracker. The monopulse tracker can be configured to estimate a position of an object based on tracking information received from more than one monopulse antenna system therefore increasing the accuracy of the estimated position. The multiple monopulse antenna systems can be arranged in a low-profile housing to facilitate use of the monopulse tracker on aircraft.
