  • Publication number: 20130045531
Abstract: An immersible bioreactor illumination assembly is provided. An immersible bioreactor illumination assembly includes an optical waveguide with a cylindrical structure that possesses a known refractive index and causes light within the optical waveguide to longitudinally propagate through a length of the optical waveguide at a reflective angle of incidence upon meeting an inside surface of the cylindrical structure. A non-reflective surface is formed on an end of the optical waveguide for the light from an external light source propagating to that end of the optical waveguide. Diffusing structure is formed with an outer surface of the optical waveguide that alters the reflective angle of incidence. A bioreactor medium with a different refractive index than the known refractive index causes the light within the optical waveguide to diffuse at the diffusing structure through the inside surface of the optical waveguide and into the medium at a different angle of incidence.

  • Publication number: 20110147427
Abstract: The present invention is a backpack with an integrated umbrella device with an umbrella portion that includes an umbrella with a shaft with a bottom section, a motor disposed on the bottom section of the shaft and a rechargeable battery to power the motor and a backpack portion with a rear and a top that includes a backpack, a funnel located within the backpack to accommodate the umbrella when the umbrella is stored in the backpack and to protect contents stored within the backpack from rain or water from the umbrella. The backpack portion also contains the motor and the rechargeable battery and a backpack shoulder strap that is disposed on the rear of backpack portion with a wire that runs inside the backpack shoulder strap and controls an up and down switch when depressing an activation button that moves the umbrella.

  • Patent number: 7730113
Abstract: A network-based system and method processes and analyzes email messages that have been communicated by parties involved in a legal proceeding. The email messages (or other electronic files) of the parties are delivered to a plurality of server units: metadata of the email messages (such as conversational thread information, directory path information, and other properties information) are directed a first server unit, contents of the email messages are directed to a second server unit, and read-only copies of the email messages are provided in a third server unit. If the email messages (or other electronic files) contain duplicate information, the duplicative email message is linked to an email message that has already been delivered to the server units.

  • Patent number: 7693866
Abstract: A system and method stores electronic legal documents, such as email messages, in a database system such that electronic characteristics associated a native format of the electronic legal documents are substantially preserved. The electronic characteristics that are preserved include metadata and conversational threading information, directory path information, attachments, and other electronic document information. Once in the database system, the stored electronic legal documents are indexed and can be searched by users at terminals. The users at the terminals are provided with access to the database system via a server. The terminals have user interfaces to provide the users with a variety of searching, processing, and saving capabilities, including the ability to follow conversation threads, view attachments, and index and retrieve selected electronic legal documents in a manner that allows use of the stored electronic characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7284869
Abstract: A rear light viewing assembly and method includes a panel that has a top side and a bottom side. A magnet is attached to the bottom side of the panel. An arm is removably attached to and extends upwardly from the top side. The arm has an upper end and a lower end. A mirror is attached to the upper end of the arm so that a mirrored surface of the mirror faces away from the upper end. The panel is attached to a trunk of the vehicle. The mirror is orientated so that an image of the rear lights is reflected from the mirror to a rear view mirror of the vehicle. The rear lights are actuated and viewed by the rear view mirror to determine if they are illuminated.
