  • Publication number: 20090089498
Abstract: A method, medium and apparatus for transparently virtualizing storage in an operating computer system. The method includes a computer's recognizing a storage device connected to the computer through a physical connection, a storage virtualizing device's virtualizing the storage device, the computer's relating the storage device and the virtualized storage device and, finally, the computer's failing over to the virtualized storage device on the computer. While virtualizing, the storage virtualizing device, the physical connection and the first recognition maybe maintained through the step of virtualizing. While virtualizing, the method may recognize the storage device through a physical connection, virtualize the storage device and expose the virtualized storage device. In an further form of the method, from the time of recognition through the time of failing over, no I/O is interrupted by the method.

  • Publication number: 20090040052
Abstract: Methods and devices used to alert others of the health and welfare of a person. The present invention uses at least one sensor, such as a motion sensor or accelerometer, a clock, a timer, an audible alarm, at least one button with multiple functionality or several buttons each having a specific functionality, and a transmitter adapted to send health and welfare data across at least one communication channel to a receiver. The present invention can further include a location based sensor adapted to allow a person to find the user. The device of the present invention uses one set of functions which allows the user to confirm to another that the user is well, and another set of functions that determine that a user may be unconscious or incapacitated and hence notify another of such fact.

  • Publication number: 20090021425
Abstract: A system for providing location based, event and inventory information having a first terminal coupled to a database correlating address information to location based coordinate information, said first terminal adapted to transmit said location based coordinate information and a second terminal adapted to receive the location based coordinate information, automatically input such location based coordinate information into a map display and display a map including the address that correlates to said location based coordinate information.

  • Publication number: 20080114613
Abstract: An integrated electronic medical records and health care management system includes a managing application for receiving and storing member data associated with at least one member of a health plan. A risk assessment application coupled to the managing application generates a level of care for the member based upon the member data. A member safety knowledge database stores medication interaction data, and a clinical protocols knowledge database stores treatment data relating to the treatment of a plurality of health-related conditions. The managing application generates a plan of care for the member based upon the member data and member's level of care, the medication interaction data, and the treatment data. The managing application also monitors implementation of the member's plan of care and updates the plan of care based upon the implementation of the member's plan of care.

  • Patent number: 7361161
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device such as an injector for self-administration of a medicament. Those using such devices are often infirm or have impaired vision. There is accordingly a dead for a medicament delivery device in which an amount of a dosage of medicament to be delivered can be selected relatively quickly by the firm and infirm alike and in which the amount of the dosage may readily be controlled and determined. Also there is a need to display the amount of the dialed dosage of medicament on the rotatable knob in figures sufficiently large and clear to be legible by those having a degree of impaired vision.

  • Publication number: 20060175363
Abstract: A plurality of devices for preventing creases and wrinkles in articles of clothing best suited for hanging in combination or individually onto a horizontal arm and or a plurality of side arms of a clothes hanger in existing collections. Such wrinkles caused by a smaller hanging surface. The devices having a large cylindrical hanging surface removably install and securely contour onto the arms through a molded gap.

  • Publication number: 20050011105
Abstract: A battery powered fishing line bite detector alarm producing visible and/or audible alarm signals is disclosed. An arm, installed within the alarm, integrally connects to a modified leaf on-off switch. The alarm attaches to a fishing rod in front of a fishing reel mounted on the rod. Fishing line is threaded into the arm and adjusted such that slack is provided between the rear of the alarm and the front of the reel thereby allowing forward arm movement. The fishing line is further inserted until desired resistance of forward and backward line movement within the arm is achieved. Applied tension to the line forces the arm to actuate. A tension spring clip connected to a switch lever, and a common leaf contact arm, pulls contact arm closer to an upper common contact point until contact is made activating the alarm signals.

  • Publication number: 20050000213
Abstract: A rotary Stirling-type engine (100) having a heat chamber (105) with a compressing turbine (107) at one end and a valve assembly (108) through which gas enters the heat chamber (105). At the order end is a nozzle housing (109) for gas exit. A shaft (110) extends from the turbine (107) and is mounted in a bearing (111). Another shaft (112) extends from the nozzle housing (109), mounted in bearing (113). A rotor flywheel (114) is also mounted on shaft (110) and fixed in place by socket pin (115). The engine also contains insulating jacket (120), regenerating a housing (122) and a heat sink (126). In the engine, gas is compressed by the turbine (107) until it opens valve (108). The passes through and expands in the heat chamber where it receives heat radiation (eg. Solar) through a glass window (121). The gas cannot escape back through the valve (108) but rather through two circumferentially mounted nozzle adjusters, spinning the whole central assembly, including the compressing turbine (107), as it escapes.
