  • Patent number: 8983856
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes, in one aspect, identifying, in a data repository, (i) information indicative of a health care provider who is assigned to a pre-defined calling zone, and (ii) radius information; accessing scheduling information that comprises a plurality of time slots, wherein each time slot corresponds to a time for the health care provider to perform the health risk assessment; selecting, by one or more computer systems, a particular slot from the scheduling information; for the selected slot, applying a geo-dialing algorithm to candidate information that is indicative of one or more members of one or more health plans who are candidates for scheduling in the selected time slot; identifying, based on application of the geo-dialing algorithm, a candidate with a geographic location that is a decreased distance from a geographic location of the health care provider; and causing a call to be placed to the identified candidate.

  • Publication number: 20090012928
Abstract: A method for creating an amalgamated bioinformatics database from at least a first database and a second database is presented. Concepts are identified in a first field from the records of the first database. A second field from the records of the second database which has data related to the first field is also identified. A first set of concepts is identified by traversing a mediating database using terms associated with the first field and a second set of concepts is also identified by traversing the mediating database using terms associated with the second field. Either the first set of concepts or the second set of concepts, or both, is identified using non-trivial terminological mapping. The set of related concepts in the first set of concepts and the second set of concepts is identified and a record is generated in the amalgamated bioinformatics database.

  • Patent number: 5311272
Abstract: Deployed, air dropped buoys are presented which can be used as calibrated targets for imaging lidar systems. In this way, oceanographic optical measurements can be made to determine in advance how an imaging lidar system will perform at the time of its deployment. This calibrated optical buoy is deployable from an airborne platform. The target is illuminated by an imaging lidar system and the target reflection is compared with the backscattering from the ocean volume illuminated. At the same time, measurements of light intensity are carried out to provide a direct measurement of the attenuation in the ocean. These data are taken at all depths and the results telemetered to the airborne lidar platform. In addition, a simplified embodiment is presented which uses the imaging lidar system to obtain both backscatter and attenuation. This simplified embodiment requires no telemetry.

  • Patent number: 5178554
Abstract: A novel patching device comprises discrete modules, each having a unitary molded housing which incorporates a pair of standard female modular jacks on a front face thereof. A rear face of the housing includes retaining means for retaining a printed circuit board having circuitry associated therewith which normally maintains a constant electrical interconnection between respective conductive pins in each of the jacks. This normally constant interconnection is interrupted or "pre-empted" when a known and standard modular plug is inserted into a jack whereby the resilient conductive pins are urged outwardly from contact with the printed circuit board. Each discrete module includes novel snap fitting means which permits disengageable snap fit attachment to an opening of a panel. Significantly, the module may be snap fit either from the front or opposed rear planar surface of the panel.
