  • Publication number: 20260158581
Abstract: A device for use with welding systems and processes, comprising an encapsulating apparatus configured to encapsulate a welding torch nozzle at the tip thereof, wherein the apparatus includes an upper body portion which mounts on the nozzle; and a lower body portion which extends beyond the tip of the nozzle toward a work surface; and wherein during a welding process the apparatus encapsulates a welding electrode passing through the tip of the nozzle, an arc generated by the welding torch, and a weld pool surface directly above the work surface during deposition of the weld pool, and wherein the encapsulating apparatus prevents atmospheric gases from entering the weld pool during the welding process and reduces the shielding gas requirements compared to current gas shielded torch apparatuses, and wherein derivatives of the lower body portion are configured to accommodate unique welding grooves, joint designs, and DED additive manufacturing work piece geometries.

  • Publication number: 20250209042
Abstract: A sequence data processing and retention method includes obtaining sequence data produced by a sequencer device. The sequence data includes genomic data of interest and metadata. The method processes the sequence data, and this processing includes separating the genomic data of interest from the metadata, and compressing the separated genomic data of interest based on a reference sequence to produce compressed genomic data The method additionally stores storing the compressed genomic data and the metadata. Optionally, based on a request, a process recovers the sequence data from the stored compressed genomic data and metadata, where the recovering includes decompressing the compressed genomic data to provide decompressed genomic data of interest as the separated genomic data of interest, and combining the decompressed genomic data of interest with the metadata to provide combined genomic data and metadata.

  • Patent number: 12314971
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing economic nexus determination by a transaction processing system. The method may include accessing a plurality of transactions associated with a plurality of merchant systems processed by the transaction processing system over a period of time. The method may also include inferring a geographic location, from among a plurality of geographic locations, for each of the plurality of transactions based on one or more transaction parameters. Then, the method may include aggregating a total revenue per geographic location per merchant system based on the inference of geographic location determined from the one or more transaction parameters. For a merchant and for a geographic location for which said merchant has location based revenue within the geographic location, the method may include applying an economic nexus rule corresponding to the geographic location, and determining when the economic nexus rule corresponding to the geographic location is satisfied.

  • Publication number: 20210315343
Abstract: The invention provides a container for holding combat sport equipment. The container comprises: (a) a hollow body defined by four sidewalls that extend from a closed base to an open mouth; (b) a handle provided on one of the sidewalls of the hollow body, and (c) a lid having an inner surface that comprises a flat area, an outer surface, and four edges. The handle comprises a first elongate member and a second elongate member, wherein the first elongate member has an elongate axis that lies parallel to the plane of the closed base; and the second elongate member has an elongate axis that lies perpendicular to the plane of the closed base. One of the edges of the lid is pivotally connected to one of the sidewalls of the hollow body and the lid can pivot between an open position, in which the lid does not cover the open mouth and in which the flat area of the inner surface lies parallel to the plane of the closed base, and a closed position, in which the lid partly or completely covers the open mouth.

  • Patent number: 8390308
Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic testbed, an electronic testbed board, and a method for positioning receptacles for nails in the electronic testbed board. In an embodiment, the electronic testbed board includes a mounting through-hole for mounting a receptacle for a nail. The mounting through-hole is drilled to a suitably precise diameter for mounting the receptacle substantially perpendicular to the testbed board. One or more via-holes are located adjacent the mounting through-hole, and are adapted to allow an electrical connection between any conductive layers provided at the one or more via-holes. The receptacle may be mounted more accurately and the electronic test bed may be built more accurately by separating the functions of the via-holes and the mounting through-hole.

  • Publication number: 20120046866
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring a hydrocarbon production system. A fiber optic sensor system is deployed into hydrocarbon production system, so as to extend to location of interest within the system, for instance, in conjunction with a downhole component or a surface component. The fiber optic system detects vibration present in the production system component, and provides a signal indicative of the vibration to a signal acquisition and analysis unit. The vibration of the production component is analyzed and a change in system flow condition/property or a change in production system component integrity is determined.
