  • Publication number: 20180367808
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for video encoding are provided. For example, a video file may be segmented into at least a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may be analyzed to determine that the first portion is associated with a first level of complexity, and the second portion may be analyzed to determine that the second portion is associated with a second level of complexity. A first bitrate associated with the first level of complexity may be determined, and a second bitrate associated with the second level of complexity may be determined. The first portion may be encoded at the first bitrate to generate a first encoded portion, and the second portion may be encoded at the second bitrate to generate a second encoded portion. The first encoded portion and the second encoded portion may be assembled to generate an optimized video file.

  • Patent number: 10029524
Abstract: The disclosed inventive concept provides a robust tow hook mounting structure for use with vehicles having curved frames in which the tow hook remains fixed to the vehicle during a front end impact event. The structure includes weld nuts aligned in a vehicle longitudinal direction. A frame reinforcement to which the tow hook is attached is welded to the front tip of the curved frame. Mounting bolts are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle to secure the tow hook and the tow hook reinforcement to the frame weld nuts. The shear capacity of the mounting bolts is higher than the towing capacity and the crash load during an impact event. The structure generates high bending moments that trigger favorable bending deformations in the kick down area of the frame in which the structure functions as a backup arrangement in an impact event and reduces high crash pulses.

  • Patent number: 10031975
Abstract: Search results are prioritized based on the size of the content sources from which the search results were obtained. Such content sources may include, for instance, a user's local sources (e.g., a hard drive associated with a user's computer), a user's online content sources (e.g. a user's cloud storage), and the entire web. Search results which are obtained from smaller content sources (i.e., those containing fewer resources) are presented to the user before search results which are obtained from larger content sources (i.e., those containing a greater number of resources).

  • Patent number: 9940359
Abstract: Provided are techniques for a Data-Partitioned Secondary Index (DPSI) partition level join. While using a Data-Partitioned Secondary Index (DPSI) to perform a join of an outer table and an inner table, a different task from multiple tasks is assigned to each partition of the inner table. With each task, a join is performed of the outer table and the assigned partition of the inner table using the DPSI to generate results. The results from each different task are merged.

  • Patent number: 9921217
Abstract: A test device uses driven flow technology in a simplified testing format, such as dip format, to provide a rapid diagnostic test device that shortens the interpretation time of the test result to less than one minute and minimizes manufacturing costs. The test device shortens the distance between the opening on the front side housing and the conjugate pad without squeezing the sample pad and without requiring a separate component, such as a cap, to squeeze the sample pad. The test device utilizes a single, integral housing made from, for example, a flexible transparent material, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that integrates the traditional base and top, or inner and outer tubes, into one to save the manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 9823244
Abstract: A progressive compression test cartridge that is adapted with driven flow technology that can be coupled with a digital electronic device to make the test reading result more reliable quantitatively than visual interpretation. The test cartridge can provide test results typically in one minute or less. The test cartridge can accept a sample via a droplet or a stream sampling method. In the stream sampling method, the open end of the test cartridge allows the sample pad of the test strip to be exposed to the stream of fluid. A refracting pad on the base of the test cartridge can refract the original stream vector partially along the sample pad then continue flowing to elute and release the nanoparticles from the conjugate pad onto the membrane which is pre-coated with reactant(s). Collimated compression bars can prevent flooding sample by restricting the top and bottom surface of the conjugated pad.

  • Publication number: 20170296798
Abstract: A micropuncture kit for direct access of a surgically exposed vessel using direct visual guidance includes a micropuncture access needle having a proximal hub coupled to an elongate shaft defining an inner lumen and a visible depth indicator positioned on the elongate shaft a distance away from a distal tip of the elongate shaft. The kit includes an access guidewire sized to be received through the inner lumen of the micropuncture access needle and a microaccess cannula having an elongate body defining an inner lumen and a plurality of visible depth indicators formed on the elongate body. The guidewire includes a distal tip and at least one visible depth indicator positioned on the access guidewire a distance away from the distal tip of the guidewire. • Patent number: 9784733
Abstract: A rapid diagnostic test device uses driven flow technology to significantly expedite the testing time of a sample. The rapid diagnostic test device can be used to analyze liquids, such as some body fluids, by using labeled molecular affinity binding, such as immunochromatography. The test device can detect an analyte, such as an antibody or antigen, which may indicate a particular condition, the presence of a particular drug, or the like. The device includes an inner member that receives the body fluid. Dripping holes in the inner member, or a sloped surface, creates a stream force of the body fluid against the sample pad of the test strip. A portion of the stream force of the body fluid is directed upward toward the conjugate pad to push the antibody/body fluid sample onto the membrane of the test strip.

  • Publication number: 20170209077
Abstract: A fall sensor coupled to a necklace to detect a fall of a user is provided. The fall sensor includes a first sensing device, a second sensing device, a wireless module and a controller. The first sensing device is coupled to the necklace to detect a tension force of the necklace. The controller is coupled to the first sensing device, the second sensing device and the wireless module. When the first sensing device detects the tension force is changed, the controller activates the second sensing device to confirm whether the user is falling down, and when the user is determined to be fallen down, and the controller outputs an emergency message via the wireless module.

Compression bars in the cover and a compression cushion in the base sandwich a conjugate pad of the test strip to accelerate chemical mixtures to flow from the conjugate pad of the test strip toward fixed sites along the strip from which readings are taken.

  • Publication number: 20170171195
Abstract: Techniques described herein include systems and methods for biometric authentication utilizing a dynamically updated biometric template derived from social media content of a user. In some embodiments, a service provider computer receives an authentication request that comprises biometric data provided by the user utilizing a user device. Social media content associated with the user may be received by the service provider computer from a social network service computer. In embodiments, the service provider computer may generate a biometric template for the user based on the received social media content where the biometric template is continually updated based on new social media content shared by the user. The service provider computer may determine a confidence score based on a comparison of the biometric data and the biometric template. The service provider computer may verify the authentication request for the user based at least in part on the confidence score.
