  • Publication number: 20240417950
Abstract: A controller for a work machine may cause increasing of an angle of a ground-engaging implement of the work machine while maintaining a distance between a trailing edge of the ground-engaging implement and a center line of the work machine. The controller may detect that the work machine has traveled a particular distance from a location of the work machine at a time of increasing of the angle of the ground-engaging implement. The controller for the work machine may cause the work machine to steer away from a windrow based on detecting that the work machine has traveled the particular distance.

  • Publication number: 20240384503
Abstract: A controller may obtain sensor data collected by one or more sensors of a work machine having a ground-engaging implement positionable at an angle that defines a leading edge and a trailing edge of the ground-engaging implement. The sensor data may relate to material being worked by the work machine using the ground-engaging implement. The controller may detect, based on the sensor data, at least one of an accumulation of the material at the leading edge of the ground-engaging implement or a formation of a ribbon of the material forced from the leading edge of the ground-engaging implement. The controller may cause one or more position adjustments for the ground-engaging implement to resolve the at least one of the accumulation or the formation of the ribbon.

  • Publication number: 20230054208
Abstract: A diagnostic system for a motor grader with a blade, a drawbar member, and a center shift mounting member associated with a drawbar-circle-moldboard (DCM) includes actuators connecting the blade to the DCM and interconnecting other components of the motor grader. The actuators affect movement of the blade relative to the DCM and affect movement of the other interconnected components relative to each other. Sensors generate signals indicative of a current position of the blade and positions of the other components of the motor grader. An input device receives an operator input indicative of a selection of predefined, diagnostic positions that can be checked visually by the operator for confirmation of proper operation. A controller selectively actuates the actuators based on the selection of a diagnostic position and a signal indicative of the current position of the blade to move the blade and other components of the motor grader into the selected diagnostic position.

  • Publication number: 20220042281
Abstract: A work machine includes a frame; an engine supported by the frame; a plurality of ground engaging devices supporting the frame and driven by the engine; an operator cabin supported by the frame; a plurality of sensors and input devices configured to provide a plurality of signals; and a control module. The control module is configured to receive the plurality of signals from the plurality of sensors and input devices, determine if any of the plurality of signals is a positive signal, where a positive signal indicates that an operator is present in the machine, indicate an ‘operator present’ status if at least one of the plurality of signals remains positive for a debounce time, and indicate a ‘no operator present’ status if none of the plurality of signals remains positive for a threshold time.

  • Patent number: 10620004
Abstract: A surveying system is provided having a work machine with at least one sensor configured to produce a signal indicative of a longitudinal pitch of the work machine and a lateral roll of the work machine. The work machine additionally includes a locating device configured to determine the location of the work machine, a communicating device configured to communicate over a network, and a controller in communication with the at least one sensor and the locating device. The controller is configured to receive the signals from the at least one sensor, create survey data by linking the signals with the location of the work machine, and communicate the survey data using the communicating device over the network to one or more offboard controllers. At least one offboard controller is configured to compare the survey data to one or more threshold values, calculate variances, and generate a map displaying the variances.

  • Patent number: 10316491
Abstract: A control system is disclosed for use with a machine. The control system may have a first blade mountable to the machine and configured to engage a ground surface below the machine, and at least a first actuator configured to move the first blade. The control system may also have a second blade mountable to the machine and configured to engage the ground surface below the machine, and at least a second actuator configured to move the second blade. The control system may additionally have a controller in communication with the at least a second actuator. The controller may be configured to determine a first position of the first blade, and to automatically cause the at least a second actuator to move the second blade to a second position based on the first position of the first blade.
