The primer coating compositions are useful for multilayer paint coating films which have at least two layers of paint film including the cured primer coating composition film. The use of the primer polymeric vehicles of the present invention in conjunction with one or more additional overlaying top coating film layers provide a multiple layer coatings having improved adhesion and chip resistance.
