  • Publication number: 20150014264
Abstract: Apparatus (10) comprises a base (12), a plurality of posts (14) attached to the base (12), and a platform (16) defining a surface (18) for supporting at least one mail tray. The platform (16) is coupled to the four posts (14) and is moveable therealong between a first position (20) and a second position (22) (shown in phantom lines) below the first position (20) when a first object (e.g. a full tray) is supported on the surface (18) of the platform (16). As other full trays are stacked on the apparatus (10), the platform (16) is displaced further from the first position (20) until eventually it reaches the base (12). When the full trays are unloaded from the apparatus (10), the platform (16) rises upwards, returning to the first position (20) when none remain on the surface (18). As the platform (16) rises, a space (32) between the platform (16) and the base (12) opens up and is a convenient place to store empty trays.

  • Patent number: 5881895
Abstract: Collapsible containers configurable to provide a plurality of seaparate compartments are described, each having a back wall (84) carrying elements (104B, 104C) hingeably movable from positions parallel to the back wall to positions extending normally of that wall and defining compartments. In one embodiment stackable rigid structures (formed from inter-engageable boarding pieces) are placed within the container with the movable elements located between pairs of structures. In another embodiment the movable elements are rigid and form (when extended) bases for trays and lie immediately beneath side supports hinged to the back wall and rotatable from positions parallel to that wall to positions extending normally of that wall to act as end (and possibly) divider walls for the trays.

  • Patent number: 5833114
Abstract: A container for the secure storage and transport of items, has a rigid rectangular base with rigid side walls upstanding from opposed edges thereof, a rigid back wall extending generally normally of the base wall between the side walls (preferably centrally of the base) and partition walls pivotally connected along one edge to the back wall. Each partition wall is foldable so that it is held against or parallel to the back wall and extendable from the back wall to be supported on runners on the side walls. The base and each partition wall has a front wall pivotally connected to its edge spaced from the back wall and when the partition walls are extended these front walls are each movable to extend upwardly between the side walls from its associated partition wall to the one thereabove.

  • Patent number: 5645353
Abstract: A plurality of supports are arranged about the periphery of the mouth of a fabric mail bag. The supports are formed of an elongate first part and an apertured second part. The supports have their first parts permanently secured to the fabric of the bag so that then second parts extend orthogonally therefrom. The supports serve to attach the bag to external supports and to normally bias the mouth open.
